In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

I don't get much time to actually post anything but a few pics and prices. I have decided to take some time and address a few issues. To all my customers who have taken the time to get out and post all the good messages about us,...THANKS!!!! My usual day is about 17 hours or more 7 days a week. We have over 300 animals that we keep full time. I spend my days feeding, cleaning, medicating, cycling breeders, packing, un-packing, field collecting, setting up eggs, building cages, driving(I hate Miami traffic!!!!)etc. Plus we conduct about 40 lectures and wildlife programs per year. Some of these programs are 8-10 days long. (Full exhibits) We are also on call for venomous species and nuisance wildlife for 3 counties. In addition we take in a number of sick or unwanted specimens and rehabilitate them. We are one of the few facilities that do not charge an adoption fee. I feel this is a little bit of payback to the animals. (It might not get me into heaven but, at least I feel better) My poor fiancee gets quality time with me when we are in the field and she's holding the bag for the Cuban Tree Frogs or when we are on the road going to the airport or picking up new specimens! (Thanks Tina!!!) For those of you getting into the business.... It's not all fun and games. 30 years of doing this, lost lots of money to scams and liars, con-artists and cheats. But, I have gotten to know some good people! I know what species they are looking for, wether I can trust them,(I still get caught on that one sometimes). I know about their families, their hobbies and interests! Most people simply receive their animals and I only hear about it if their is a problem. But, some very kind people make me want to continue in this. If I had the money to do so, I would never sell another animal. I would simply send them to those who were dedicated and had the true heart!(Oh yeah, were Eastern Band Cherokee, Tsalagi. so you may see some unusual references)I.E." Love America or give it back to us!!"LOL Anyway, this is getting long...
Thanks to everyone for their patience. Sometimes there are delays in shipping. It's hard to get reliable help! Sometimes these delays have been because I do not like how an animal is acting or feeding. I will even tell customer they do not want to by a certain species or specimen. I need the money but, it only takes one bad animal to get a bad reputation. I'm not saying I'm perfect or know everything. I make mistakes also. There have been some losses this year but, luckily it was Carrier error. I won't name the company but we will be refusing to use them for shipping anymore. Thanks everyone for your patience and support! (Damn, I was just loading that gun to climb on the tower! Can't now I feel better!!) Also, even if you do not purchase from us, if you have any husbandry, breeding , veterinary or herp related questions please call us. I'll help all I can. We have to stick together to better understand and help the souls we have in our care. Again Thanks!! Ray Goushaw Herpetological Breeding Reseach 772-468-0228 [email protected]

e-mail to us?

Someone e-mailed me with this:(????) Not sure what they meant? If They are confused as to why I posted the above statements, well...It should be obvious. Lots of bad publicity on this site. It's always good to point out the better things and take the time to thank people. Ray Goushaw Herpetological Breeding Research

Ray,

Don't get me wrong. I was not trying to be disrespectful at all. The questions marks were because I was not sure as of why this post was here. You were not inquiring about someone but rather giving an update of your activities/accomplishments. That's the reason for the ???

Regards. :)

previous post

If there were another area to post a thanks to a few kind people I would have done so. Don't mean to mis-post if that were the case. I guess I was looking for a wider method of replying without sending an e-mail to each and every one. Sometimes I take short-cuts in lieu of spending to much time on something. If it sounded at all like I was posting my accomplishments, well I didn't mean to come off that way. I guess what I was trying to do was explain why sometimes it's hard to get me on the phone till late or why some delays can happen. I tend to get sidetracked from what I actually meant to accomplish when I'm tired. If it was incorrect for this forum, again I apologize. I understand the BOI. It is a very useful and important tool.
