amazon tree bpas are more on the difficult side to take care of.i thought i was ready to take care of one once but it turned out i wasnt.i owned like 5 snakes before i got an atb so i thought i was ready.i had a female wouldnt eat or anything.i brought it back to the person i got it from.i now own some that are healthy and have ate.these are very tempermental snakes and dont like to be handled or anything.they are see dont touch snakes.they are very particular too.you have to have a bunch of branches and perches.they normally always eat in the cage, almost never out of the cage.they neesd an almost constant humidity percentage at 70% to 80%.it isnt too hard to keep humidity up all you have to do is spray like 2 times a day.and they like to bask after a good feeding so you need a good basking perch where the temp is going to be around 90 degrees which should be the hottest spot in the tank.the abiant temps need to be in the high 70's to the mid 80's.
on the other hand that is a good price for a halloween phase amazon tree.i actually just got a new male red and orange amazon tree.he isnt really tempermental.not always will an atb be tempermental.i have had 2 that were very nice.
if u go to faunaclassifieds.com they have a section that will have alot of private breeders.but if u want to get them from pet shops which are way mroe realiable then go to google.com and type in amazon tree boa for sale and click on the one that says Kingsnake Classifieds Tree Boas/Pythons and they have alot of good looking atbs.also to get more info go to corallus.com. or post a thread at redtailboa.net and post a thread and this guy named Julius Squeezer knows his stuff.hope i helped you.
