BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Local gas prices are inching ever closer to the $4 mark.

As of Monday morning, local drivers are now paying an average of $3.70 for a gallon of regular gas.

That's a four cent jump in just one week.

Damn!!

I went out to the Tuscarora Reservation on Sunday, and on the way out the gas prices we all $3.69.9 a freakin' gallon!!

Thank God and the Res!!

$3.40 a gallon!!

And the damned old coot in front of me at the pump not only filled his tank (and he must have been on fumes when he rolled in), he filled 5 large gas containers and stuffed hem into his truck!!

As I saw him unload the containers, I turned my van off.

No use wasting fuel watching him being an ass for 20 freakin' minutes!! And there had to be 6 others behind me.

And 24 pumps! All loaded.

There should be a separate pump off to the side for containers so that people with vehicles to fill can do it and just drive off.

Let them pull off to the side to fill their containers!

It's already $4.00 at the stations closed to me. I always laugh every time I see gas highs and they never list my area. They call it regional pricing for the stretch of area close to my home.

Years ago when the prices skyrocketed I would see these reports about the highest gas prices in the US and mine was never listed and was more than what they stated was highest.

I did pickup a street legal golf cart in 2001 to run errands around town. A "Ford Think" I think it is finally going to pay for itself shortly at these prices.

LOL-they'd drop a net on anyone driving around in a golf cart off the course in WNY. And probably arrest them, too.

Heck, you should go to the area known as "The Villages" in central Florida. It must be the golf cart capital of the world. Nearly everyone there drives those things.

You could have went to another fill station rather than wait on the old coot who was being an ass by protecting his own pocket book as he watches gas prices rise, who im sure also had to wait his turn at the popular station with the lowest gas price....

Lol....

Unfortunately, I was pinned between him and abut 5 other cars in line for that pump already when he puled forward, stopped and started hauling gas containers out.

I had a pump on my left and another line of cars on my right.

So...I was effectively boxed in.

He didn't even have the decency to pull forward to the front pump in our lane, but just pulled to the rear pump. Had he pulled forward, I could have pumped at the rear while he did at the front.

I guess I am pretty lucky so far. In Oklahoma our gas prices are around $3.35 per gallon. It seems like we always have lower gas prices than everyone else. I don't know why its like that but I am not complaining either.

Samatha, I should have just kept my typing fingers to myself... I understand your frustation of having to wait, I just felt bad for the guy when i read what ya typed...
Anyway.. have good day people

I'm looking forward to warmer weather and no salt on the roads. The Harley gets a lot better mileage than the 12.5 MPG Tundra.

Just wait until the world finally drops the dollar as the official reserve currency, we'll be thinking fondly of the days when gas was just $4 a gallon.

This is the part of the post I commented on.. Your explaination of his rudeness came after..

It's not a big deal..just forget I said anything..

WOW.

He gets points for being RUDE and not pulling forward??

Just...WOW.

Lol, OK but to her credit you didn't state that there was a empty space that he could have pulled into in front of him in the first post. That's what she based her first post on. I would imagine that when he pulled in the first space was occupied before he got out and stated pumping. It happens all the time you get out and start pumping and the person in front takes off when you have multiple cars waiting. Here you a speedway of someone trying to get around and back into that spot.

I also understand being frustrated on having to wait. You have to wait in lines to do just about anything these days unless you live out in the boondocks.

To be honest you stated he was rude but the reasons for this is he needed gas cans filled. If I'm going to get gas for my lawnmower, gas tools or what not and there is a line I'm not just going to think that I will forgo getting the gas I need because people are impatient. If I need the gas right then, I need to get it. Will I make a few stops at other places or get in line again each time to fill each can? Not likely.

We all get frustrated and it is good to come vent about it.

I'm sure if its a busy as you stated he must of had to wait just like everyone else.

Heck, he was probably sitting there cursing out all the other people to hurry up so he could get his gas and move on.

Wonder what gas prices are in western Canada now? Gas was over $5 a gallon in Alaska when we moved down to the lower 48 and we had the pipeline going through town with a refinery. We were lucky to find gas in YT, BC and AB, Canada that converted to less than $7-8 a gallon. Luckily even hauling a U-HAUL trailer through the mountains of BC I still got 31mpg in my Tracker.

There's a website set up for people to find the cheapest gas in S.F.
http://www.sanfrangasprices.com/
(lowest in SF is $3.82; highest is $4.29)

cheapest near me is $3.89 for about 2 weeks now. The one good thing about gas prices going up is that it encourages more people to use public transportation. I know the BART trains around here get a lot fuller when gas prices spike (I commute on public trans about 1/2 the time)

LOL-Unfortunately, our local public transportation company cut MANY routes, and many of the bus trips on the routes that remain, or totally re-designed routes to go to other places.

It's gotten to the point where people in low-paying jobs have quit because they have no car, the buses near their homes no longer go where they work, or the buses that DO go to where they work don't go anywhere near where they live.

One day, soon after they instituted the schedule changes, adults and high school kids were being stranded miles from their destination, or the buses that were left were so full that they left dozens of people standing at the stops.

You know why they cut the bus routes and trips?

GAS PRICES.

Imagine going to the bus stop on Monday, getting on the bus you normally take, and finding out that same bus no longer goes anywhere near where you work.

Now, imagine having to walk the rest of the way to work, in 10 or 15 minutes. or getting fired.

This has actually happened here.

The lowest I've seen gas around here is $3.49. Seriously thinking about a bike (or even a scooter) for going back & forth to work on!
