    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I'm new to breeding leopard geckos and after going through 4 males and finally buying a female we have successfully mated her and another. Recently she has produced only dried out eggs. She will lay them when I'm at school and when I come home they will be laid in some odd place and be deflated. Is there not enough humidity in the tank and is there a reason why should be laying her eggs on a rock instead of in her cave with wet paper towel? Should I use moss instead? Thanks for any replies or advice!

Here's a video of the eggs.

She should have a proper egg laying box with some type of damp substrate to dig in and bury the eggs.
Those eggs are definitely dried out and were likely infertile.

I have had the same problem with my geckos. Seems with both males, my female lays deflated and infertile eggs. I am starting to wonder if its the female that is infertile.

How many do you have? I took me awhile to finally find a female. I think the breeding season just started so hopefully she will start producing fertile eggs and start ovulating.

We have 4.1. geckos finally after going through 3 males we finally found a female.

Make sure you're leaving the male and the female together for the entire duration of breeding season. It takes more than once to get the job done. Also it's important to provide a good diet, preferably with various kinds of insects including mealworms, superworms, roaches, crickets, and the occasional treat of waxworm. You should be dusting these insects at EVERY feeding with calcium to provide an adequate amount for the eggshells to form and harden when they are laid.
