    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hey guys!

First question: My two year old male leopard gecko often has what seems like new scales pointing out of his preanal (femoral) pores. I know of several species (including Tokays) that excrete wax from their pores, but most geckos excrete it from their vents. I usually notice them when I weekly check his vent and hemipenal bulges.

Second question: My four-five month old crested gecko's first shed in my care has recently happened (five days ago), but he still has some left over skin on his crests and belly. I have used a wet Q-tip with water on the end to lightly loosen the skin-I managed to tug some off the crests but none off the belly. Tomorrow I'm going to try some Thermazene (Silver Sulfadiazine) from my reptile first aid box on a Q-tip. Next I'm going to try Provodone Iodine (Betadine and others). I'm trying to get an appointment for him at the vet's.

Third question: What necessities do I need to put in my reptile first aid? I'm going to add gauze bandages, probanly Reptaid, and some shedding ointment (cause my leo once had a shed problem -unforunately lost part of two toes [which are growing back])
BTW: I've started to get the crestie to eat!
Thanks,
B & K

For your Crestie, have you tried a sauna? Like this:

I have a list of recommended first aid supplies on the Crestie care page of my website- link is in my signature. :)

'Gratz on getting your Crestie to eat!

I've already got most of the things you've recommended, Laura. For yours, I would recommend gauze/medical bandages. My parents are EMT/paramedics, so I have a steady supply of this.
