I attended my first ever reptile show, last Saturday (7/20) in San Jose, and couldn't have been happier. I had high expectations for that show, since I inquired beforehand and found out that at least two high-end crested gecko breeders would be there. Because of that, I came early and paid double the normal price for two VIP tickets(30 min. earlier access) online.
Geckogen was one of the first vendors that I went to, and I met Edgar and who I later found out to be Jeff at the table. Both were very friendly and willing to help answer both my girlfriend's and my questions. After some consideration between two crested gecko females, I decided on a red female with yellow/white sides. After purchasing her, they held onto her for me as I went to look for the rest of the cresteds.
I came back to the table around an hour later, with the sole intention on buying the other female, a red patternless with portholes, that I had been originally considering. I purchased her after talking with a gracious lady who was also eyeballing her, and then eventually left the show.
I saw Edgar outside as I was leaving, and he again thanked me for my purchase, asked for me to "take care of my babies", have a safe trip back, and extended an offer of communication if I had any questions. Although the show was much much smaller than I expected, I was very pleased with my purchases and the experiences I got from the people at the show, Edgar being one of them. The females are both huge, 40+ gram females that have already acclimated to their enclosures and are eating. I am very happy with them, and will definitely purchase from him again.
