I just rescued a group of sub adult geckos. None of them will eat. I have tried superworms, mealworms, crickets and wax worms. I do not feel that the TEMP is a problem. Any suggestions to kick start their appetite??

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....
Geckos not Eating..Help!

How long have you had them? It may take a little while to let them settle in before they begin to eat. If not we used a "slurry" for our rescues who wouldn't eat.I will try to find the "mix" if someone else doesn't find it for you first. Basically it's crushed up worms with some vitamins that you gently wipe onto their nose. They don't seem to like a messy face and will clean it off by licking...and sometimes by rubbing it off. We also used vanilla Ensure. The combination helped our rescues so much they are now huge! Good luck .

This is copied from an earlier post.It is from Marcia of Golden Gate Geckos and I can't thank her enough for it. Our rescues survived against all odds...and I really think the slurry made a big difference!

In a blender, combine:
1 small can Hill's A/D pet food (available at most vets)
1/4-1/3 cup Ensure (not chocolate)
1 jar baby food squash
1/4-1/3 cup Pedialite
2 tablets or contents of 2 capsules milk thistle (herbal supplement, liver purifier, found at most drug stores.)
1/2 tsp. each calcium powder and herp vitamin powder
1 large handful of mealworms, added slowly while mixture is blending
Puree all ingredients until completely smooth, and pour into ice cube tray(s) and freeze. Store cubes in zip-lock bag in the freezer until ready to use, then thaw out 1 cube at a time and store in fridge for 2-3 days. I use the empty baby food jar for this purpose, washing it thoroughly after each batch.
Using this mixture, draw a full dropper (eye dropper type) and place a drop on the gecko's nose. It will lick it off, and as it does, slowly squeeze out a little at a time. Most geckos love this food, and will lap it up. Feed them as much as they will take a couple of times a day.
*Lately, I have been adding about 1 tsp. T-Rex Gargoyle MRP to each new thawed out cube.
**Don't tell anyone you put worrms in the household blender!
