• Responding to email notices you receive.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Geoffrey Marshall Aka Geomeleon or chamcapture

Proof of the immediate filing of the Paypal claim would probably help your case a bit, Geomeleon.
How would I go about doing that? Not to computer savvy lol and I don't even own a cell phone...can't stand them!! I know PayPal is a very secured sight and wouldn't know how to get the info posted here.

While shipping to an unverified address can leave the seller open to being scammed, payment for a business transaction being sent using the Friends & Family option (which is typically for gifts and other non-business related things) leaves the buyer just as vulnerable to being cheated, and it also screws PayPal. While PayPal is investigating the incident, they likely won't be too happy when they see a business transaction was completed using that payment method so you could rip them off of collecting the cut that rightfully belongs to them.

For someone who is not "computer savvy" and describes the PayPal website as being "very secured", you certainly were well-versed in how to circumvent their policies and fees.

Just from the outside looking in, a seller insisting the money be sent using that payment option is what would raise "red flags", IMO. It also reeks of extremely poor business ethics, but that is a different issue altogether that I won't elaborate on here.

I pm'd him back and let him know the animal had a scar on his back and if he still wanted him to let me know.

Even if you have deleted all your PMs, it is pretty evident Mr. Mafia has kept all of his, which include the exchanges you two had. What he posted already doesn't show any mention of scars, burns or other aesthetic abnormalities on the chameleon. If that is the extent of the PM exchanges you two had, your recollection of events doesn't add up to the evidence presented. If there is more, Mr. Mafia, please feel free to post everything since it will only help you.

While Mr. Mafia has been a bit brash, if his account of what went down is accurate, I don't blame him for being very upset and defensive at being sold a misrepresented animal in a way which would seemingly absolve the seller from responsibility.

Marcin - can you post time/date of the screenshot you posted that had a pic and 'you didn't tell me about a burn?'

Seems like if the seller was being set up, he would have replied, "Like hell I didn't" or some such. And then definitely not deleted it.

Hence the reason I said "I got some nice pics today"! I didn't say I "took them today"!
I see. So, deflection and feeble word games are all you have to offer. Got it.
I have countless people that have bought from me in the last 7 years that are VERY happy with their purchase!! It seems odd that in the 7 years that I have been a member on this forum that I suddenly feel the need to scam someone!!
Yeah, we've never seen someone with an ostensibly good reputation decide to screw the pooch. Simply never happens. Sadly, for you, there's nothing to show that your version of this story has any basis in reality. On the other hand, there's a good bit that supports exactly what the OP is saying. Whether or not he's a total :censored:, in this situation, my money's on him being the honest one.

If someone were looking for a patsy, the OP sure would be a great one, with his past and present posting habits. He's almost tailor-made to play the part. Somehow, I have to suspect that you knew very well exactly who you were dealing with all along.

No, like I said, this animal was NEVER listed for sale! If he was, I would have disclosed it in the ad! On CF there is NO way to retrieve deleted messages as well.

If you log into paypal you could simply copy and paste the whole dispute right in here. or better yet, take a screen capture to post up in here. Either way, if you want people to buy your story you've gotta give them SOMETHING! Just at least prove that the dispute was filed right away.

The ONLY evidence I need to offer is the Paypal transaction. The fact that he pulled an "unauthorized" charge makes him guilty as hell and he new he was going to do that from the start!! Why not say "item not as described"? Why OFFER me money for a cham that wasn't even up for sale? Sorry Apex, but word deflection and suspicion doesn't equal GUILT!! I will say this one more time...I AM NOT A BREEDER AND DON'T NEED REPUTATION!! If someone doesn't want to deal with me in the future that is their prerogative. As it stands I ONLY deal with panther chameleons and "that" community knows me well. This was started today!! http://www.chameleonforums.com/my-new-banja-thnx-chamcapture-111541/

So, your cheerleader decides to post a new thread, singing your praises, and you believe that that does a damn thing to change this situation? Laughable, but not surprising. If you "DON'T NEED REPUTATION," why bring that up? Try not to sprain anything while patting yourself on the back.

I don't think that the label of the PayPal dispute is as damning as you choose to believe. In and of itself, it doesn't prove anything. Maybe he simply clicked on the wrong thing or didn't understand his options. You're the only one who's allowed a lack of sense and computer savvy? Maybe it was a desperate act taken by someone who just realized that he was carefully screwed. When juxtaposed with your very conscious choice to require payment sent in such a way as to remove any recourse he may have had, I'm almost willing to call it a wash.

Hey geo here's the whole convo we had that you lost. Point out where it says he has a scar please

Apex I didnt know saying thnx to someone on a forum is cheerleading. Be careful you shouldnt insult people I might not let your mom come over to play with my snake or chameleons anymore.

This is truly pathetic. You say you we're away and didn't have Internet yet you have been signing in here everyday. I even mentioned it to the the mod earlier and copy pasted it. If your trying to pull a fast one its the only option i had.i had a couple orders come in for a hub pick up from chameleon company because I like to get my chams out of the box as fast as possible. The old scar speaks for itself and so does every other piece of evidence. I might be a smartbutt poop talker and whether or not people like me because of my breeding views doesnt matter in this case. I still have more character than your 40 year old butt. Me and my friend both made all this up for no reason right? I've said it before and I'll say it again, if he had a scar you should have been up front about it and took slightly less for him. You look like a complete fool over pennies.
