    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

George Page (Bad Guy?)

Well if he left a meassage with Dave's father Im sure the check will be there in a couple days... I see your point and respect the fact that you are defending a friend. But right now George is not looking too honorable. He many in fact be a great guy. All I see is non payment after goods recieved and breaking his word. If he does it once he will do it twice. It happens everyday...
 
Hey this sounds like me defending Justyn Miller......

I started out offering $1 for $1.......But that quickly faded to .75 cent on the dollar to .50 cent on the dollar to .25 cent .10 cent ..........Worthless.....Next
thing you know I was Charging $5 dollars to take on $1 dollar of Justyn Debt.....Not that I think George would try such a thing........But lets face it......Blood can't be squeezed from a turd :NoNo:
 
Mike even if George pays his debt. And I hope for Dave's sake he does. There will always be some doubt in a future sellers mind about his character. Unfortunate events happen to us all. I'm sure Dave could accept a reasonable explanation. But the fact remains George has been silent and hasn't lived up to his end of the deal.
 
Hey mike, since you're such good buddies with dave and you have contact with him, why not have him use your computer to post what's up?

Seems a pretty simple solution to his internet access to me.
 
If he is still in Las Cruces and wants to use the computer on monday morn when I get home from the fire station, I will be more than happy to let him post.....

Seems to me accepting goods and waiting a month and a half to send payment is jeopardizing his name and reputation.

Sorry but if you can check email on your phone you should be able to send it too. Most people just dont like to because it takes forever to type out. I used to hate typing out emails on my Razr.

Well, I missed a lot last night. I just got up and so did my dad. Now that we know he has a new number and e-mail we can try to contact him. He sent me an e-mail back last night that I got this morning saying he personally sent the money order. Maybe it will come next week?

But still, how was I supposed to know he had a new number and a new e-mail address? If it wasn't for this thread he may have assumed I got the money and just never said anything about it. This whole thing might be just a mix-up but I can't thank you all enough for the help you have given me.

If you all want to contact me, my number is 704-519-6021. I can talk anytime after 10:30 Eastern Time. I will have my dad call back George sometime around lunch time here because I know George lives in New Mexico so it is still early.

I will keep you all updated on what happens!

Well one time he said he was going to be gone for a week on the oil rig. When he got back he said that he thought someone had sent it. That was maybe two weeks ago? We are going to call him now that we are home.

If everything was on the up and up..........Why would George use a number
that was being disconnected? Why would he have the snakes sent to a Mis
Labeled address? He answered my e-mail with in minutes and then called from his Web-site phone number? Whats the problem? :NoNo: .......

His reputation is already looking shaky He has told you he is sending the money already. He has yet to produce a reasonable excuse for his actions. In my book at least that looks pretty bad. Dave you have proven to be patient and dealt with this issue like a pro. I hope he follows through :thumbsup:

I forgot to add this to the prior post. I sent the snakes and I was just calling to check on if he had sent the money. He said that he was at the bank as was sending it. So he either totally lied to me or the money got lost.

Unless I've missed it, I can't figure out timelines that go with all the statements of calls, emails and sending money and just how many times money has supposedly been sent.
First George tells Dave he was at the bank and was sending it, then he tells Dave he personally sent the money order. Then he tells Dave he thought someone else sent it. At the same time Mike Daniels states George sent the money order "last Friday".
Now, George has finally made contact and other arrangements are being made to transfer money bank to bank.

Mike Daniels, if George sent a money order last Friday, why would he now make other arrangements to do a bank transer? You yourself said you wouldn't be surprised "if it gets there next week" ... meaning this week of the 17th. That, in my mind, is an odd statement to make considering the talk that the money order might have gotten lost in the mail (you also hinted at that) and considering that George told Dave he thought someone else sent it and is now making other arrangements. Any idea who that someone else might have been?

I don't doubt that Dave will get his money very soon and I'm glad it appears resolved.
Still, I can't help wonder if he would have received it had it not been for the BOI and Dave's father getting involved. After all, the deal took place in October, with a lot of excuses, ambiguity and damage control by someone uninvolved with the deal, in between.

I would also like to add that I think Dave conducted himself in a very mature, responsible manner. I'm quite impressed with the patience and restraint he's shown at such a young age. He's a perfect example of a kid (no offense intended, Dave) with a passion and attitude that will surely succeed if he maintains the same sense of honor and maturity he's displayed here.

It's really unfortunate and even shameful, that George, older and more experienced in the industry, wouldn't set a better example, perhaps even taking advantage of Dave's youth and inexperience.

George may very well be a good guy, but I'll buy from and sell to Dave first.

Update...

I just wanted let let you all know that George wired the money through Walmart and I picked it up today.

So I guess this story has a happy ending. I want to thank all of you so much for helping me along the way. I now realize how tough the 'real' world can be and that I can't trust every thing I hear (which is pretty sad). I hope I can grow up to be a great breeder and maybe someday I will be in the BOI under Good Guy!
