When I purchased my first pet frogs in 1986,I thought the lifespan was 5-6 yrs.
I never dreamed that frogs could be so long-lived!!
I have different kinds of very old frogs:
White's Treefrog-got him as a subadult 22 yrs.ago. (My other one died last year, at 21)
Fire-bellied toad-got it as young adult-19 years ago
African clawed water frogs,2- I grew these from tadpoles from a place called "Grow a Frog". One is 21, the other is 22.
They are all doing well.
I am grateful to have been able to have them long term...get to really see their different personalities.
