In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Congrats!!

With some more foliage in there looks good! I'd also add a shallow water dish.

You have a digital hygrometer to monitor humidity? If so- you might go ahead and start experimenting now with how much and often you'll need to mist to obtain the ideal humidity cycle.

Look forward to seeing more pics! :)

OH- I just realized you're using one of the Rzillas (I use those for my adults too) - be forewarned, they are NOT waterproof at the bottom. I've run a bead of hot glue all along the bottom seams of mine and it helps hold in water, but they still drip even after that. So if you didn't do anything to waterproof them, you'll need to put something to catch water so you don't ruin your furniture when you mist!

Why thank you :)
and yes I have a digital one, thats the wire in the background and I have been experimenting with it for the last two days, believe I've gotten it all right minus the tweaks I'll have to do tomorrow when I put the plant and moss in

and thank you, yes I have a catch for it but this is only for a few months. I plan on building my own cage like I did for my beardies and boas
also making the homemade cage bioactive :)

Congrats!
If you plan to keep that light, be sure (1) it's not giving off heat, and (2) you add enough really dense foilage for them to get away from it. They are not fans of bright light, and it can really stress some individuals.

yeah
that light was my snakes old one
I have a black nocturnal light but having no light fixture in my room i needed the lamp to show off the terrarium for photos :)

The humidity is going down a little faster then I would like any tips to keep it up longer?
also I'm getting some zoo med moss and a plant today so that should help

I don't know if you were going to use the black light on the cage, but don't. Those are way too hot. If you want to view your gecko at night, get a short strand of red LED Christmas lights. No heat, and their pupils will not react to the red.

You want the humidity to drop to 50-60 between sprayings. If it doesn't, you'll have mold very quickly. That enclosure is designed very well to accomplish this. Just spray morning and night for very young animals, once heavily at night is fine for older ones.

I got the complete crested gecko kit from Pangea
it came with the bulb but I had no intention of using it

just water proofed the enclosure and am putting in the plant I got now

Sounds great.Seems that you have this thought out well & prepared for your new family member, more coverage the better and no light sounds good to me as well.Good luck on your new endeavor.Keep us posted.

I actually got food poisoning or something on Friday night and could not go to the show on Saturday so I resorted to ordering online and she (too young to sex) arrived this morning and shes a cutie! since she's a younger one I did switch to an old 10 gallon but filled like halfway up with substrate so i estimate its a little bigger then a 5 gallon.
and so stole a photo before I leave her alone for adjustment period :)

Very cute, congrats!

Since you have her on loose substrate, be sure if you feed live bugs to feed her in a separate container or put dubias in a glass dish in order to reduce ther risk of her getting a mouth full of substrate. That can be a serious health risk, especially with younger geckos.

I personally always at least start new geckos out on paper towels for a month or two just b/c it makes it easier to monitor that they are eating and easier to keep clean and sterile- especially if you do notice any health issues that need treatment.

IDK that I'd change her at this point, but something to keep in mind if worst case scenario you notice anything wrong.

She seems to be doing well. quite active at night, no loose skin and i got her to lick some mushy banana with calcium powder last night so i know shes at least eaten something
