I saw this toad tonight in Central Florida.

I've seen thousands of southern toads (_Anaxyrus_), but I've never seen one this size. I'm certain it's not a marine toad.

The $10 bill is for scale. The bill is 6-inches, so I would say the toad is easily over 5 inches.

Am I the only one who is surprised by this toad?

Thanks!

My son called me over to see the toad he found, and I thought he had found a marine toad. I've never found one in the wild, so I was excited. It was really confusing when I saw it was a southern toad. I left it where it was, which is a really, really public place. I hope it continues to live and grow there.
