There are many different jobs within a department besides LEO. If you shipped to the department and he did not pay, you most certainly should contact the chief and make him aware of the situation. He used the department to commit theft and will most assuredly loss his job for such an act. In Arizona as in most other states, any theft, committed on or off duty, is grounds for immediate revocation of peace officer certification on the off chance he really is an LEO. Even if it has been a couple of years, he will loss his job.

You can also file a direct complaint to the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Education. They issue all law enforcement certifications for the State of Texas and have the power to revoke certification for criminal offences.

Also I have never in my life been convicted on a wildlife charge, I have always had the proper permits and reported what I collected accurratly to them.
I have always obeyed the law and all the animals I have sold went to either the Japanse or private breeders here in the US. I have never sold to any pet store. The Japanese are famous for the quality of care they provide and famous for being the pickest and hardest to please..well I have been selling to them since before you were in High School and I take offense that sending animals for there own hobby is anyway unethical or harmful to them.Do you have a problem with asian people? On that note I have not one petstore in the US I supply, this is because we all know what conditions many(not all) of them keep there animals in. How many breeders here dump off there animals at the local "mom and pops"?
I havn't collected much in years..been too busy with breeding projects..plus I am older and it hurts a little more now.
I 100% support the collecting of reptiles as long as it is done humanly, with out damage to habitat or populations. I am very picky with what I collect..only 100% perfect animals are bagged, chips, nips, scares , etc.. and there worthless to me. I feel as long as you do no marm and help captive propagation then feild collecting is 100% ethical..
Also Chris keep in mind making false accusations to law enforcement is a crime, as well as purposly harrasing someone on a public forum saying they are committing illegal activities etc.. I have a cheapass lawyer who is filing a dispute on my behalf this week with my power company..350.00 is all it takes to hand you your ass..350.00 isn't much bro!! Heck I may ask Kelli if she like to go in half ..
I like to appologize to you Kelli for this guys lack of manners and sorry you were dragged into this crap..I hope you do not hold this against me or any disagreements we have had in the past. Life is too short and we all have too much to learn.

I understand that this is HIS ground, but the fact that a bunch of his friends jump on me doesn't change how what he is doing is wrong. The truth is that mass collecting wildlife and exploiting it for proffit is greedy and unethical. Field herping is a hobby that has multiplied to a degree that no one could ever predict and soon it will have to be regulated in the same way as major game animals are regulated. A culture has risen from the field herping community and in this culture there are clearly defined ethics that MUST apply to everyone if we are enjoy the wild populations of herp that we do in the future.

Justin...Understanding that you only select males of the purest form, where do you draw the knowledge that this MASS collection of one gender of a species like Crotophytus (whose males are terriorial) in the same general locality isn't harmful? I understand that for every male that you take, it's likely that one will replace it...But have you really been doing this long enough to see whether the Crotophytus population has declined? I am not an advocate of the Precautionary Principle, but when it comes to collecting 50-70 indviduals from a single population, I get worried.

Small amounts of collection ARE sustainable, but mass collections like this are certainly not. How many Collared Lizards did you report last year Justin?

Given the fact that collecting this amount of lizards most likely is adversely effecting the populations from which they came, is there ANY other way that you can continue your exportation business without collecting them from the wild? Like captive breeding for instance...

Not to mention the fact that collecting the most successful animals while disgarding the "unhealthy" ones will leave only the worst genes in that population.

I have never pulled that kind of number from any single or even a dozen populations..in the course of a day I may travel 400+ miles or so for that kinda number.

I had over a hundred transactions last year alone..I get nut jobs like you occasionally and occasionally I have to use the BOI as a prod to get what's mine.Yes I am human and have blown my lid from time to time..I will admit that..But 3 years with a good and patient woman and anger management counseling has helped..I come from a long line of hotheads and felt that it was destructive to myself and my relationships..also 3 weeks in jail for almost killing a guy for hitting my girlfriend scared me and gave me time to think and reflect on who and what I want to be in life.

There have been several instances where I have worked with Zoo's and other organizations..From the Shedd Aquarium to the South Florida Corucia Research Center I have done my part for conservation..how about YOU. I don't have to do this.. most zoo's want the animals now and want to pay 1-2 months later..only those who are confident in there animals quality and who don't care about the $$ would do that..not that I don't care about $$, I just like helping when I can and sometimes helping is as easy as just waiting for my end to come. So why not..it makes me feel good.
Also if you so concerned about Texas laws then tell me how many letters did you send off..1 maybe two.. I sent off almost 100..I emailed every damn person I could multiple times as well to the letters and made phone calls "that really got no where"..I have response letters from them proving such.
