In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Long time reptile hobbyist Gina Gauvin, a member of this site, aka OrnateSky attended the Great White concert in Warwick, RI on Feb 20 and was severly injured in the fire. She is in the hospital with burns covering more than 50% of her body, hooked up to a respirator in ICU and her condition is questionable but "hopeful" at this time.

Gina is well know on the internet, having donated thousands of hours of her time over the years helping others on many forums, email lists, Yahoo! Groups, and other reptile sites. Many people are indebted to her for the expert advice, time, and compasion Gina has shared with us all. I know there are many grateful reptile owners that owe the lives of their pets to Gina's help. She has never asked for anything in return, she does it for the love of reptiles.

Now it is our turn to step up and take care of one of our own, if you can. Gina is a single parent, mother of 2, sole support of her family and she needs our help!

Ronnie Buck, of AB Herps Gina's close personal friend, has been authorized by her family to accept donations on her and her families behalf. The information about donating can be found at his site here Donations for Gina along with a paypal link to make things easier. Starting immediately he is also donating 25% of the profits there to Gina and her family. Please find it in your heart to make a donation to a woman who has always been there with great advice on all kinds of herps.

Updates will be provided as anything is known, her brother is staying with her children while the rest of the family remains at the hospital, friends are coming in to are for the reptiles she breeds. No Flowers allowec as she is in an area of the hospital that does not allow them or cards.

If you would like to send Gina a card or regular mail a donation Ronnie has been authorized by Gina's family to accept them on her behalf also. Please make check's payable to Gina's brother, Vincent Catallozzi.

Please think of Gina in your prayers and thoughts, this is a very rough time and the next 72 hours the doctors say will tell them more about her future

This is horrible news, but also reaffirms my faith in our community.

Beyond donating your money and well wishes, I encourage everyone to make a message similar to Cheri's on the front page of their webpages so others may lend their support as well.

I reread my message and apologize as I was trying to get this up quick and did not spell check it...

Also, just to clarify, 100% of anything donated to Gina on the paypal site, or mailed to Ronnie in c/o of Gina goes to her children to pay household expenses while she is unable too and to pay expense they may have due to this accident. The 25% was of any sales Ronnie makes of his animals or Cricket/Worms Gutload also goes to Gina's fund.

Update on Gina from emails from her family:

Thank you for the warm wishes and your kind
donation, every bit helps no matter what size.
Gina is doing well as expected thru burns and
respiratory issues but the doctors being very
optimistic and my sister being a very strong
person that she is. Thanks again

Hello this is Gina's sister Renee. Thank you so much for your
thoughtfulness! We have been to the hospital again today. Monday will be
the first of many surgeries. We just need to pray. They said she has a
strong heart and that is a plus. She has a long road a head of her. She
will be in the hospital for a long time. They said with her lungs she has
70% burns. It is usually 1 day for the percentage of burns. So thank you
again from all of us!

Renee

There is now a guestbook on the site for anyone that would like to send a message to Gina or her children. Just click the link above and then click on sign Gina's guestbook.

There is a new UPDATE about Gina.

We raised over $600 at the Tampa show for Gina and her kids, this is in addition to the site donations. The first check and cards went off 3/3/03 to her brother who is caring for her home and children.

Thanks to everyone who has contributed to make this possible. Gina's family is so greatful. Denise, Gina's sisters', co-workers donated over $850 to the fund through the site. There are several other projects in the works to help raise more funds to cover her household expenses til she is able to again and a committee has formed on Yahoo that are working together.

It is just so awesome the way the reptile community has come together to support them through this time, what looked like an impossible goal is becoming a reality thanks to all the ideas and hard work by so many, and of course all the people that have donated funds, animals and suppliers.

Thanks to everyone so much and if you have any ideas, please share them.

A long awaited homecoming
