    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Glades Herp Farms/Florida (RobRoy MacInnes) - fraudulent behaviour

Im sure they have a bunch of tables. Thats just b.s. theyve got $$$ for tables and gas but no $$ to pay their debt. Typical scammer mentality. I have no use for a theif. I dont care if they've got the best reptiles or not I dont care to ever work with them.....

That what I thought you would say. Dan and the rest of them should drop a bit in rap. As they help with a scammer make money plus had money off them to line his pockets a bit. But Dan could be a upstanding guy. BUT GOD MAN HELP A OTHER HERPER OUT DON'T LET THEM SETUP UNTIL THEY PAY THERE DEBTS!!!!!!! That is one show I will never go to again or buy off of anyone set-up there.

I had dealings with Glades Herp back in the late 90's when I was attempting to own all of the Crotalus durissus ssp. Although they do get some hard to find herps in they're a little shady in their dealings. Luckily at the time Mike (can't remember his last name) was in charge of the venomous and when I'd call and inquire about an animal he'd tell me if they were worth purchasing or else he'd say "man You don't want that snake."

I also would take the 4 hour drive down there to personally buy/pickup the animals and never bought sight unseen.

A friend and I took a drive one time and it was agreed upon that he would be taking an Aldabra tortoise down there to sell for 1k USD. Once we got there and he picked out some snakes worth 750 USD and wanted the 250 left in cash RobRoy came out of the office and said that he must take it in trade and could not get the cash because he didn't have it.

Now it appears that he still does not have the cash to pay people on his dealings when payment is due. When someone is living hand to mouth for that long then there is bound to be shady dealings in there somewhere.

I am not saying do not buy or sell to Glades Herp but I will say that I would never send them money or animals without it being in person so I could either see what I was buying before hand or make sure I received payment before relinquishing possession of my animals.

Oh man thats awful. I thought they might actually pay you since they sent 1500.00 towards the debt. Dont give up keep the pressure on them and keep this thread alive. The guys obviously arent very intelligent business men. They have probably lost more in sales from this horrible deal and the subsequent bad image it gives them than the cost of the snakes they took. :shootfoot

Yeah, that is PURE BS TOO!!!!!!.........All they have to do is put a few bucks aside from the sales of any of their OTHER animals and send it to the man(Ben) this would add up to $5,000 in NO TIME!. They just choose not to even attempt to give the guy a dime of his money in any kind of installments which makes them nothing but SCUM-BAG THEIVES!!.

I haven't bought anything from Glades since 1998 (when Chuck Hurt worked there), and that went extremely well I will say. But they will never see me buy anything else from them the entire rest of my life either.

They could right small sums of the total on a check whenever they wanted to(if they wanted to), but they chose to stiff the man COMPLETELY instead!

Bravo to the guy that leaped over the vendor table and clobbered Rob, I am sure it was well deserved!! :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

Whether Glade's chooses to believe it or not, this thread is hurting their business very badly.
 
I'm pretty sure Glades Herps have money. They were throwing it around, I thought, at the auction at Tinley. My belief is that before you start throwing money around, pay your debts.

I do not, sorry. I walked out of the auction simply because those guys were acting like idiots. Personally, I, and a number of very well respected breeders in the industry walked out due to the drunken antics of that company. Money did not appear to be an issue there.

I do not know these guys, but from attending various reptile shows over the years, it appears that stardom on a pretty aweful tv show has gone to their heads.

Good luck in getting your money back, and thank you for bringing this to the attention of this board. I will certainly never purchase from a company that acts in such a way. I am sure this post has also put a lot of other people off purchasing also.

Damn, I saw this thread back at he top and was hopin for some good news. As far as them not chiming in on the thread, i remember sending them an email when the thread was first started and i believe somebody from their end said they dont frequent the site.
