In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hey guys I am going on vaction on Sat. What tings should i do for my leo to make sure he will be safe for the week im gone?? PLease help

Thats the thing no one can come check on them when im gone. WHat should I do? Leave a load of mealworms in there and leave my windows open (its summertime here) but what about water?? IM confused..please help

well the adults can certainly survive a week with out food it's a long time but if you feed them good just before and maybe a few mealies.....if thats what your using...left extra. Personaly I think the food situation should be fine.
Its the water and how consistant your house temp is?
Water maybe your biggest hurdle.

Water reservoir???

I have seen "reptile water reservoirs" in pet stores. Anyone tried them? Are they reliable?
... but I guess they won't solve the problem of water getting dirty/contaminated...

This poses a interesting question, which I was thinking about earlier today as I was watering my mice!.....god I hate those stupid mice!!!
Anyway, has anyone ever tried one of those bottle water feeders with there geckos (or other reps)?
Just thhink no dirty water and it would last weeks!!!!! Hmmmmmm
do I detect...................experiment!!!:dunce:

thanx so far for your replies. I am going to feed it like crazy before I leave then leave mealies in there for it. If I leave my windows open and no AC on I think the temp will be OK. I canot leave any of the lights on or anyhting plugged in (fire hazard). and water I still have no clue. I have a bigger water dish I could use that I used to use for my snakes would this work maybe?

Re:

Personally I have tried the water resiviours and I LOVE THEM!!!!! I do travel often and I use them for my snakes and lizards (I also have a blue tounged skink) and it keeps the water fresh and clean.

I used one that had a small staircase in case something fell in. The damn crickets were still jumping in and couldn't find their way out. So I ended up changing the water every day or two anyway. If you can keep it relatively out of the way of crickets it should work well.

Overton,
watering your mice.....let me know when they sprout for you!
Roaches eat dead pinkies....by the way...good protein for them

I'd like to see someone try a water bottle and see if a reptile would adapt to drinking from it.

I am looking at going on vacation soon as well and I have no idea what to do with my gang. I'd rather stay home and take care of them but I can't....I have to go:(

What are some of y'alls vacation plans for the care of your leos?

I am leaving for a week in August (going horseback riding in Colorado :D ) but it is easy for me, a colleague is going to come over and check on my little one for me. I just have to make sure there are enough meallies being gutloaded when I leave. The vet's phone number will be on post-it next to the tank, just in case...
We all have pets and sit each other's "family" when necessary.

Im planning a hundred and fifty mile Kayak trip down the kootenai river, starting in Montana & ending in Nelson British Columbia. Im giving myself one week and leaving in august some time. Anyone wanna go? I WILL be Herping along the way! LOL
