In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Good shots, Rich! I hope you utilize every part of the deer taken.

I've been so tired of hunting in 60 degree weather, I'm glad we're actually expecting SNOW this weekend! ^_^

I can't believe gun season starts in two weeks.

I got tired of the 60temps too.
This whole week has been 19F morning and 30 night. Today is 45high 30lo, our gun opens tomorrow and be 47/30 for temps. Im not liking this rise in temps at all but they just started rutting this past week here. Monday here be 58 again which is irritating

I live in the heart of the city, so I'm restricted to hunting only on the weekends, otherwise I would have been out there yesterday. It was freaking perfect.

I did pop a little bear a few weeks back. Even caught the "before" picture on one of my trail cameras. He was 260, which isn't too shabby.

I wanna see more of the puppy! I love labs.

I took my cow elk a couple weeks ago, I'll have to find pics.

Here She is with my dad. If it wasnt for her we never would of found him as there was no blood trail to follow, she picked up scent and took us 80yards to him.

Get yourselves some horses, boys!

We routinely pack out hundreds of pounds of Elk and Muleys out of the mountains and barely break a sweat thanks to our ponies. I don't see how anyone hunts without a horse.

For the most part I totally agree. Horses are great. My ATV with a winch I like even more. However, the mules (non-motorized ones! lol) can't even make it on the backside of mountain where our camp is. The horses aren't coming close. It would be suicidal anyways. One step off the ledge and the deer just keep sliding and sliding.

Funny story if you can just visualize it....
I remember one time me dad told me over our headset that he shot one and it went waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay down over the hill. Now, I sit on the one end of the ridge line with him at the other. The area on my one side is an 85 degree mountain that overlooks a river 2000 feet below. So, I don't see land off one side of the road..just sky basically. He tells me he's going down to get it and that he doesn't need help. I figure it's where he can get it with a horse or a bike, or a Mule/kaboda. So here I am, waiting for some deer. I'm getting a little worried about the old man. He's not answer the headset. And the whole time I think I'm hearing something like a truck which seems odd to me. I also can't hear out of one ear, so I hear...oddly. Anyways, I shoot this deer, it drops 20 ft away from where it was, I wait, then I go down and field dress. It was about dusk. I hear what I thought was heavy wind, like a train almost. Next thing I know, I hear the biggest most fearsome roar, then...essentially out of NOWHERE off the edge of my "cliff" pops our '98 Cat d9r with a mother freaking DEER ON THE ROOF!! I might have pissed my pants a little.

Turns out my father decided that he was just too old to haul around on the deer and took the bulldozer straight down the mountain where there was an old line right of way to get his deer. But once he got down there, he realized none of the lights were working, so he just decided to come straight up.

Boys and their toys..

Haha. Yes, boys and their toys.

We have some pretty sure footed horses that can handle the mountains here. But, when we need something that can handle pretty steep verticle climbs, we break out the asses. To date, out two little spotted donks have taken mountain lions and bighorn sheep down from the ridges. But mostly, we stick to our horses.
