Keeping to myself
I wanted to know how everybody tracts and labels their eggs. Currently I use a tupperware container for each female I have laying. I lable the front with the females name and description. I then label the top over the eggs with the # of eggs laid, lay date and expected hatch date. I estimate using 45 days. This is just to remind me to start checking around that time. I also place a post it note on the front of each laying females enclousre with the lay date of each set of eggs. This helps remind me to start checking the lay boxes better when the next clutch should be coming. This has worked for me in the past. I had 5 females laying last year. This year I have 15 now and in a couple more weeks 5 more. I want to be as thourogh as possible. I am trying to use excel to make a chart for each female. When they are introduced to the male, when they are visually gravid, when they lay each time, and the results of the egg such as hatch date or time the egg collapses. As well as a description of the hatchling. If anybody would like to share their methods it would be greatly appreciated. If anyone has a chart that they currently use I would like to hear about it. Thanks for your time. I am including a pic of the egg containers that I use and a pic of my incubator.
