I can not tell if my female is gravid or just ovulating, anybody have clear cut pictures that shows this difference?
Thanks so much

im looking at those pictures on the link. I have a question, whats that little white dot that almost looks like an egg in the middle of her stomach right below the pinkish spot. I saw that on my female and thought that was an egg? Are eggs only visible when they are on the side of her body?

That's somthing that I find neat. That female is about to pop, with her first clutch, however even before she lays that clutch another clutch is starting to devlope.

I emailed Kelli and Marcia about that pictures yesterday, according to Marcia,

"the second arrow (A) is pointing to an egg follicle forming (ovulation). The little dark area (arrow 1) is her gall bladder"

If I understand it correctly, the eggs start where that pink area is and slide to the side. I don't know for sure, whenever I see eggs they are always on the sides

I'm so excited, the female in that picture just laid those eggs at 2:15pm, just as I was getting ready to leave to pick up my son from school. I peaked in and one was there and then all of a sudden I see the other one pop out. She was such a good mommy, digging real good to hide them and protect them. That's four eggs in the incubator. Still have a long wait :( to see babies!

Does anyone else find it very hard to see a bullseye when using the Bed A Beast?

Yeah Eggs!!!

What are you talking about when you saya bullseye? Do you mean candling the eggs? If so, it takes a few days or so to see if they are fertile eggs.

Yeah candling. I always do a quick scan as I'm transferring from the lay box to the incubator. I do it for a few reasons.

If I see both have a bullseye no problem, but if I see only one has a bullseye, I put them in separate containers, and keep an closer eye on the one that doesn't have a noticeable bullseye in case it's a dud. I hate rotten egg smell in incubator.

I also take note of the placement of the bullseye so when I do check them in a few days I know where to look. If the bullseye is on the bottom, I know that it may be a week (at lower temps) to see veins near the top of the egg.

I'm kind of a little too organized with record keeping with these guys. :crazy03:
