    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Been a member for a bit now but I figured I'd throw a newbie thread together. My name is Derek and I reside in the Phoenix, AZ metro area (Chandler to be exact). I've been here for going on almost a year, prior to that I spent about a year in Tucson, AZ where I became obsessed with herping thanks to a good friend of mine. I field herp whenever possible outside of my day job (Heavy Equipment Operator & Mechanic), but working overtime and being a family man leaves little time for it unfortunately.

My passion actually started in Washington State where I was born and raised. Typical run of the mill story which is finding my first Garter Snake in my early teens, trying to bring it home, and having my mother make me release it back into the wild. :) Since that encounter, I never got into snakes because of my mothers fear of them. Fast forward about 20 years and the passion kicked off in top gear once I moved to Arizona. I obtained my first captive snake in the form of an L.G. Californiae / Cali King. Fast forward two years and my collection has grown to four including one native Rattlesnake, two native colubrids, one CBB L.T. Honderensis, and parting ways with my Cali King.

My goal is to either join or start my own snake removal business (along with working my full time job) to spend more time doing what I love. Also looking to meet fellow herpers and snake enthusiasts in the Phoenix and Tucson area who have the same passion and have the animals well being in mind at all times. Also looking to continue to find my "must finds" in Arizona this year which has started off great!

Thanks for reading!

Sincerely,

Derek

Hi Derek! Snake removal sounds like an exciting project. What do you have on the "must find" list?

Thanks Anthony! This year has been good as Ive already knocked out two on the list (C.L. Klauberi and C.W. Willardi ). Next up is my other elusives that have avoided me for two years, which is C. Cerberus and Sonoran Coral Snakes. Would also like to find a high white [C.M. Pyrrhus [/i].
