In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Greg DeCurtis aka Gregory Austin - disputes valid charges

Any particular reason you are protecting the person (or people) who has (or have) been attempting to steal your money from you? I do not need to know the answer. It is not directly important to me. It could be important to someone else. You could have helped other sellers avoid being scammed as you apparently have been. I mean from the start with every attachment that has been partially muted. You have obscured some address details, both physical and electronic, as well as an associated phone number. You are hoping a thief or thieves will do the right thing all of a sudden? Just like that? Being polite is nice, but please and thank you to the person who is actively working to victimize you and still is since the dispute is ongoing? Protect yourself. Protect others. This person or these people have made their bed. You are already aware that you are not the only party this game has been played with. Do you think the game will not be played with yet another party beyond yourself? A party that could have benefited from the information that has been obscured if doing research on a prospective buyer?

The answers to these questions are not for me or my benefit. I do not need them.

The reason I do not disclose the full details is that I do not want to be liable for a breach in confidentiality. Unfortunately today's world is litigious and from my experience with the legal system and attorneys you do not want to leave yourself open for any legal action. I may have to use the legal system with this guy so I am playing by the rules. I think I have given plenty of identifying information the community can use.

Let's sum up what we have so far: A person named Gregory Austin DeCurtis living in Sioux Falls, SD ordered some leopard geckos from me using a credit card after placing two leopard gecko orders online with me that did not go through (see posts above). The geckos were sent to him by me and he texted me he received the geckos and that he was happy with them, had high praise for me and asked to pre-order a male to breed with the two females he received (see posted). About a week ago he e-mailed asking if I had a male (see above posted). At just over 100 days Square contacted me and said a customer was disputing this order for $355 with the claim "no knowledge of order." I was not able to submit all the info I was able to submit here to Square, and they have not done anything to address this. What I sent was sent off to the issuing credit card company.

After going over his e-mails I discovered he placed a PayPal order for some leopard geckos from GeckoBoa the same day he ordered from me. That order was also disputed, Gregory lost that dispute. GeckoBoa will post details when they get the chance. I also learned he drove to a Repticon in Columbia, SC and bought some leopard geckos there. That is a 1300 mile drive from Sioux Falls, SD. Obviously the Leopard Gecko community needs to be warned about this individual and his disputing charges pattern of behavior as of late. If anyone has any question about an order from him they receive they can certainly contact me and I will confirm if they have the right info.

I did receive an ambiguous e-mail in response to a "please stop the dispute" e-mail (posted above, both) that someone would e-mail Monday afternoon. I am waiting to see what happens there.

Public information is not confidential, neither are email addresses (btw the email address of Greg is readily discernible) or the content of emails sent to you unless there are specific special relationships involved.

Could this be the same Gregory? http://www.wral.com/news/local/wral_investigates/story/9540088/. Seems odd to drive 1300 miles to attend a reptile show. Columbia is about 3.5 hours away from Raleigh.

Is this him?

I did it backwards

I wouldn't worry about him taking legal action against you. There is no breach of confidentiality. You should post all of the information you have blacked out. Also, if he wins the dispute, there will be in all reality, nothing you can do. It wouldn't be worth your while. Like Paypal told me when someone did a charge back on me, it's a risk of doing business.

Here is the latest communication (page two is blank). I don't think at this point there is any option besides them dropping the dispute, then the money will go right back in my account. Why isn't it just as easy to pay the credit card what is owed? I don't want to get in trouble with Discover either. This e-mail is not putting them in a good light - even if the card is closed there is a balance there with this dispute.

Can you really just cancel your card and avoid paying in a dispute like that? It seems like it's a trick to get you to drop your dispute. Also a great way to be charged with credit card fraud.

So have you called and/or sent your address for them to send you a check? If you haven't already, request a cashier's check or USPS MO, as personal checks can bounce.

Also I'm puzzled as to why is "grandma" suddenly involved? The name on the card was Beverly B. Austin according to the info on page 1.

FWIW phone number 605-331-4106 (from the image) is associated with both of these names:
David W Austin
Beverly Austin
626 E 19th St
Sioux Falls, South Dakota 57105

I've had my card compromised before - it took a trip to the Ukraine, I did not - and I had to let the CC company know which transactions were valid and which were fraudulent.

Beverly Austin is the Grandma apparently. You cannot just cancel a card to avoid paying the charges, so the last e-mail he sent is likely BS.

On May 8th I received an order through my website linked to Paypal from a Gregory Austin. The total was for $320. I shipped the geckos on May 8th to a Sioux Falls residence.

June 3rd I was notified by PayPal that the transaction was disputed with the buyers financial institution. I emailed Gregory and he stated he didn't initiate the reversal and that he apologized. I sent PayPal the tracking number and they paid me under their seller's protection agreement. I don't believe they ever were paid but there is no way for me to know that.

August 6th Gregory contacted me again stating he wanted to put a gecko on hold. I had forgotten who he was at this point. I told him the minimum down was $55 to hold it.

August 11th he stated that paypal wouldn't accept his CC and sent the CC number through email for me to input in and run it. The card was under Beverly Austin. For a multitude of reasons I told him I can't input someone else's card and the cardholder has to pay through PayPal directly. He stated that it wouldn't work for him.

August 22nd Gecko Ranch contacted me with the info already provided here. At that point I linked all the prior transactions with Gregory.

September 9th I received an email from Gregory asking for my address to send a check to. I never responded.

September 10th(yesterday) I received a $380 order from a Austin Smith. The CC used was under a Valerie DeCurtis this time. Obviously an attempt to get by the PayPal filters.

September 11th(today) I emailed Gregory today linking him to this thread and stated he needed to resolve the disputes with Gecko Ranch before I will ship. He just responded stating "John...huge mess up...Julies been handled....ask her......I want those geckos..the confusion is over"

I don't have time to post all the emails and crop out all the addresses and CC numbers right now. If the authorities need any info that can be provided. On my end I could still ship him the geckos and get paid as that is on PayPal. I spoke to PayPal today and they acted like it shouldn't matter as long as I was getting paid. Really no help at all.

John
Great information
In all honesty at this stage and with all the differing attempts to get around Paypal etc I would just step back and not sell them any more Geckos no matter how many dollar value it may be, it just does not sound like it will worth the potential headache.

.your money is being credited

Is that sort of like saying 'the check is in the mail'?

.my cousin does crazy stuff with credit cards

I do not believe you.

But if I did believe you, I'd tell everyone to stay away and not transact business with you either as a buyer or a seller, because this alleged 'cousin who does crazy stuff' is a convenient excuse covering all sorts of future hanky panky.

Just how many times are you going to re-post this?
The more times, that you post it, does not make it more believable ... or is it that your shizophrenic cousin is interrupting you, again, & again, making you not realize your message has been posted a few times?
