Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Greg Power (Bad Guy)

thats a great story jim, but the reality of it is far from true! first off i dont own any beardies and havent in few years. second i havent shipped any beardies in several years. thirdly when i do ship i fill all the shipper info out completely as you have to. last but no least i take pride in the way i pack my animals using only shredded news paper or styrofoam peanuts. so i would appreciate it if you wouldnt make things up to support your friends!

sorry, forgot to ad my name again. i also forgot to ad that i rarely ship through UPS. i prefer using fedex, and have only shipped using ups twice this year and that was at the request of the purchaser. items shipped were monitors not beardies.

Greg Power

Greg,

Have you now contacted Mr. Grass and discussed what you are going to do to make up for the problem? Just curious as it appears you have enough time to post here you could probably shoot Thomas an e-mail right?

Good luck Thomas.
Chris Marston

Beuuuuuuno

I have bought a numerous amount of herps from greg in the past. Boas, pythons, monitors, torts, etc.. All the times I purchased there was never any type of negative reinforcement applying toward the quality, shipping, and definate care of the animals health. I have personally seen the collection of greg. Let me tell you when you have an asset build up of over hundreds of thousands of dollars quality care must be established in a proper manner. Thus it was. Mr.Power knows a great deal of knowledge in the herp world, a different aspect of caring for them comes from a very enjoyable hobby he devotes his life, and not a dollar amount but more care and quality than the money aspect. Quite frankly the majority out there that get pissed over ignorate s*** like this case just comes from who the purchaser is. You have to know the animal thay your purchasing and not be a hillbilly f*** and go dawgin on poeple when it was frankly your fault. Especially knowing to having the animal for 3 months in your car. All in all gregs collection is the ultimate in non brand name herp business. I have boughten numerous amounts of herps from him and never had a problem, unlike just about everything I have boughten form oh yes the almighty god of I suck and don't know anything about s*** reptile man, Bob clark, has died when I bought something. Non have ever died been sick, malnutritioned, or any sort of matter to establish a anger problem against him. Nothing wrong with his stuff its the stupid not thinking when they don't know how to take care of anything.

Kelly Smith

Greg I think that is cute having your friends and coworks post about how "great" you are. Isnt Kelly the one who stole all the animals from the pet store in mesquite and a former employee of yours. Hrmmm he sounds real creditable. I take offence to his comment. I know about all the animals i purchase and how to care for them. Oh and i wouldnt believe any post on here in Greg's defense b/c when a post like this appeared on Bob Clark's forum, employees of plano pets posted under false names in defense. They couldnt even use their real names. And the owner posted pretending to be a vet. Greg is a liar, along with his coworkers. He is not a great guy and he does not care about his animals. If you dont believe me just go look at the animals in Plano Pets!! As i recall Will is the person that told me you told him to turn off the heat lamps in the Beardies tanks and got mad about having them on. Do you not know that they need those if the temps are not not high enough. I guess thats why you have some many die. Oh and Greg you can reply to Jim and not me? Oh and i wouldnt be the one to talk about having friends post in your defense seeing how we all know how picky you are about letting people see your collection. Kelly must be a REALLY GOOD friend!

Angela Kerss

Kelly before you post about people being hillbies, maybe you should look at yourself. You grammar leads me to believe you are an uneducated hillbilly.

Angela Kerss

reptiles need heat? i thought cold blooded meant they needed to be cold. man i should pick up a book. i had the heat lights of because we were having problems with our a/c. there cages were getting to hot. as far as kelly being my friend he is, and i didnt ask him to post . he did it because he wanted to.

Ok you were having AC problems but the heat lamps were always off on something or everything. So you really must not know that they need heat. You have no defense and you are knit picking at little issues and not the big issues. Why are dodging Thomas if you are a reputable reptile breeder?

your right i am the one knit picking, and i am not dodging thomas. i told him i would let him know when i had some tristis and and dont have any at the moment.

Greg Power

dont you know that animals sell better when the lights are off and you cant see them! duh!!! if lights were off they were off for a reason and not always off. temps are always fine in the cages, wait you know that because you were usually carrying your non-contact thermometer when you came in. give it a rest already.

Greg Power

Yes the lights are on but what about heat lamps? No the animals must sell better when people feel sorry for them! Thats why we bought that red tegu. You had her in a 20 gallon! I'm not the smartest reptile person but i'm pretty sure you dont keep an adult red tegu in a 20 gallon. And I dont think that your animals are suppose to look emaciated or dead. But then again you are just sooooo much smarter than me, so i could be wrong. But I havent had any of my animals die. How many of those ball pythons did you kill? I bet a few since you decided it wasnt important to feed hatchlings. You cant use the "oh they were wild caught" excuse. You can come back with all the condecending replies you want, but i'm not ignorant and if anyone thinks i'm exagarating they can walk into that store and see for themselves. Or have a conversation with Mr. Know it all Greg.

Angela Kerss

some of the cages dont have heat lamps on them because the cage is warm enough without them. the tegu wasnt an adult but a sub adult, and she wasnt in a 20gl but a 40gl. the balls did get fed, you would know that had you asked. its pretty obvious your pissed about the dog and you have every right to be upset. i also think its pretty clear that you just want someone to point the finger at. keep on digging and throwing inaccurate statements out there and your right i do know everything and i mean everything about everything.

Greg Power

Wow... Plano Pets... boy do I have a thing or two to whine about regaurding them.

Bout two years ago, my mother and I were in the store looking for a pup. She's pretty fond of the smaller dogs, long haired chis and the like. We found a little male black and white puppy, on the sheet he was labled as a 'Long Haired Chihuahua' with a pricetag of $600. That being a bit more than we cared to spend at the time, we left but kept the pup in mind. A little over a month later, we returned and negotiated a bit. The dog had grown a little, and the price was reduced to $400. Looking like a healthy, happy little chihuahua we bought the dog, complete with the gauranteed AKC papers. Right. Now... at the time, neither my mother and I were very well-read on AKC paperwork, but by the time we got home and read through the registration, we realized we'd been scammed. Not only was the dog not really registered, it wasn't even real AKC paperwork. 'AKC' meaning 'American Kennel Club', this was infact paperwork for the 'Arlington Kennel Club' with a logo that looked exactly like the AKC's. A bit more disappointed that we'd spent so much money on a dog that didn't have the gauranteed bloodline and quality that we expected, there was still hope and satisfaction that the pup was of sweet disposition. A few months later, long after the dog should've reached maximum size, he was still growing. At almost 20 lbs, it was more than clear that not only was this not a long-haired chihuahua, but some common mixed-breed, probably chihuahua/jack russel or chihuahua/papillion. So... not only was the dog not really registered, it wasn't even the breed we'd wanted. Don't get me wrong... I still love this pup to death, but couldn't help but to feel more than a little scammed.

Another thing, Mr. Power, didn't a few pages back you said that you haven't had beardies in years? I was in your store on Thursday, you have two very large beardies in a 20gl long. Oh yeah, and some illegal caimans in a tank tucked safely away in the far back corner (nice 'Warning, may be illegal in some parts of the state' sticker tacked on there), next to your water dragons and iguanas (your big male iggy has mouth rot, might wanna check that out).

Last things last, and more of a suspected thing than an actual fact.

Ya'll come 'round the local Petco quite a bit. And by quite a bit, I mean several times a month. The funny thing is... everytime one of your employees comes through, it's well known that the employees find something sabatoged, intentionally killed or missing... I'm talking about the chlorine tablet dropped in the saltwater sump, the picasso trigger and niger trigger that mysteriously vanished after two of your employees hung around aquatics for a good hour and a half (skillfully dodging Petco associates), and the fish that magically appear in fish nets, wedged underneath the gravel on display next to the aquarium wall. Now, nobody is blaming you, but it seems really off that everytime you or someone who works for you spends an eerily long amount of time in Petco, but refuses/never asks for help, something valuable disappears. Then again, that's just coming from a close friend/family member of someone who works there.

Sorry, hadda get that off my chest.

Edited for clarity.

yes the store has bearded dragons not me. we dont ship animals from the store. nice try though, way to dig! that sucks about your dog but i didnt work there two years ago so i am not really sure what that has to do with me. i know the old mgr was a really bad seed. the caimen are not illegal everywhere. your not allowed to have them in plano as pets, but the city is well aware that we are selling them. as soon as these are sold we will not be carrying them anymore. yes i do go to petco to buy dog food about once a month, i dont ask for help because i know what i need. where are all the petco employees at when all this sabatoge is going on? last but not least we dont have a big iguana with mouth rot. we dont have a big iguana period. this thread isnt about the store.

Greg Power

Not allowed to sell them in Plano as Pets? Well hell, isn't your name 'Plano Pets'? What else would you be selling them as? Dinner?

And why would you go to Petco to buy dog food when you sell it right there in your store? Doesn't it seem a bit off to go that far out of your way? And no, for certain there has been several of your employees in there on a regular basis, maybe not you, but the people that work for you. As far as the whereabouts of the Petco associates, as I already told you, it seems that you duck and avoid them until they're busy, and then *bam* missing picasso triggerfish.

And yes, as of last thursday you did have a large, male iguana... either that, or a really funky looking water dragon with a hairlip.

Finally, Kelly, no response to the break-in accusation? I'm honestly quite curious to hear what you have to say on that whole thing.

Greg,

This is Ryan here. Sub-Adult tegu huh? That just goes to show what a great person you are to do buisness with. That tegu was over 3ft in leangth (including the re-generated tail) and it was in a 20long. As for the ball pythons, they were at your house for almost 2 weeks before you brought them up to the pet shop and when I asked about them and if you had fed them your responce was no. You're Right I am pretty pissed about the dog also. Your store sold me a sickly CKC dog as a healthy AKC registered dog. No you may not have sold the dog to us directly but you as "The Manager" of Plano Pets should have listened a little better to our complaints. When we purchased that dog I told Will I could not get it to the vet in the required "2" days and his reply was no problem, and you said the same thing to me the next day. I brought that dog back to you 3 weeks later to complain of all the problems she had and asked you to do something about it. In a nut shell you said you couldnt do any thing and I quote " My hands are tied". We informed you of what the vet said about her having Giardia

Giardia is a protozoan parasite that lives in the intestine of affected animals. It is unclear whether there are several species of this parasite or whether there is one species that affect several different animals, including people. These small parasites are very easy to miss on a fecal exam and may not be present in the stool of animals infected with the organism. Repeated fecal exams are sometimes necessary to identify this parasite. Not all animals in which infection can be demonstrated have clinical signs. This leads some people to believe that the parasite may not cause disease . Most vets think that there may just be other factors, like the animal's immune response to the parasite that cause some animals to develop disease and not others. Clinical signs of giardia include weight loss, inability to gain weight appropriately during growth, diarrhea, vomiting, lack of appetite and greasy appearing stools. Them most commonly used medication for giardia infection is metronidazole (Flagyl). The organisms come from the environment and live in moist to wet areas. They are susceptible to quatenary ammonium disinfectants, Lysol and dilute chlorine bleach. Keeping the dog's environment dry helps a lot. This disease may be contagious to people from infected dogs so good sanitary practices, like washing your hands after handling an infected puppy, are very important. If a family member develops similar clinical signs, a physician should be consulted.

She also said that there was an overgrowth of bactera in her intestine. Now you tell me , could this have happend in the 3 weeks she was in our possesion? I showed you the paperwork and you laughed it off and even said that the vet had no idea what she was talking about.

Now on to the CKC part of the story. We were supposed to get our paper work for her within 30 days and that day came and went and still no paperwork. I started getting a little uneasy about this so i decided to call the breeder myself. When i called the # her name was listed under in the phone book i was surprised when a man answered the phone and told me that she didnt even live there, that she lived down the street and didnt have a phone. I asked him to get a message to her to call me, i had purchased an AKC pup that was bred by her and i wanted to get the paperwork. Well to no surprise to me by this point an employee of your store calls me 2 days later stating that the paperwork was there. WHen i arrived at your store one of your employees gives me paperwork to register with CKC, and i said no there must be a mistake i bought a AKC dog. Well she went and showed the paperwork to the owners wife and she simply put it as " that was a typo". Last i checked selling a dog as being AKC registered even though its not is illegal.

Lets move on shall we? How bout this, Astaes said the following:

Greg hand picks all of the reptiles to ensure the best quality, and he refuses to sell to people that won't purchase basic requirements for the reptiles such as heating and lighting.

Greg doesnt order any of the reptiles there. The owner and his son do. As a matter of fact they get alot of there animals from x-treme reptiles. Now i do not know this for a fact but have had several people tell me that pretty much all x-treme deals with is wc. and your store has cbb printed on a nice computer generated lable on almost every cage.

You know Greg I could go on and on about you and your wonderful plano pets , But i think people should just go up there and see for themselves. While everyone is there they can take a look at the grandis day geko with no scales on it. Greg care to explain this one? Will did , and it didnt exactly make you out to be the good guy. what about the Iguanas? yeah the one with mouthrot, and that other one that prolapsed. Should we talk about the beardies that arnt even 2 weeks old yet and already have "beardie bites" in there to eat?

But you're right greg this thread isnt about the store its about your ethics in this buisness. And since you are the "manager" at plano pets which does sell pets then this thread should include your ethics at the store.

Ryan Kerss

Last time I recall I don't work for plano pets, and I didn't steal anything from a pet store, and greg is the manager of plano pets, not the owner there for he should get accredited for the quality of plano pets animals especially puppies he doesn't buy them he has no say in puppy handling just selling.

Wow, your response has NOTHING to do with the question that was directed at you. Astounding.

Anyway, word around here (meaning both Plano and this thread) is that you were definately involved in the pet store burgarly. What was the name of the place again? I'm sure they'd remember a name if someone asked the owner.

I believe the name of that pet shop is "The Petshop" aka "Docs pets" and im sure if i got David (the owner) or Randell (their only employee at the moment) were to get on this thread they would know your name Kelly, since it was them who told me the story.

and on to greg not being accredited for the animals. Greg is the manager right? Then wouldnt a manager at any type of store be accredited for the quality of the product they sell. If not why even have managers??
