In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Growing VERY concerned...

Ok i have a female that is really starting to bug and worry me. Sobe has laid only one clutch of eggs so far this season. Both of which were very fertile... they have both hatched already. The big deal is she has yet to lay her second clutch of eggs. Her first clutch was laid on the 22nd of February! It has been 56 days tomarrow since her last clutch. Thats EIGHT weeks! This is really starting to bug me as you can see.

Her temps are a little cool around 87, 88 on the hot side and cool side is 73-75. She still eats, though not as much as she normally did or as frequently either. Should i begin to worry about egg bindage any time soon? And yes she has an appropriate lay box with moist cocofiber in it. He first clutch was laid in potting soil though, do you think i should switch back?

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Is this her first year breeding? Some first year breeders will only lay one clutch. Try raising the temp up a little, she may think it's winter, and is not ovulating.

Ok granted that i take the fact she is a first timer, i see eggs in her belly, i am sorry i forgot that part... This blows...

We've had some that have done the same thing -- lay a couple of eggs, and look like they're still good and eggy, but not lay anything else. They can sometimes reabsorb the eggs if they don't feel comfortable with laying them. If you had soil in her egg box at first and she did lay her clutch in that, it might be an idea to switch back; she may not like the cocofiber. We use peat moss in all our egg hides. Also, first-time breeder... she may only lay the two.

There is also the possibility that you are seeing egg follicles (meaning she's ovulating) but not actual eggs -- the two can look very similar.

I hope this helps, I know firsthand how much worry this kind of situation can cause!

I feel your pain, i have a patty that hasn't laid since February 12. I have now put her in an aquarium by herself hoping she will lay her eggs. She is as big as a house right now and you can see 2 good sized eggs in her. This is not her first season either, she laid 18 eggs last year.

Those HIGH temps are actually low enough to stop ovulation, a high of 90-94 is better for breedering females, I have had females drop to 88 and stop all reproduction.

If she had or more so still has what you feel are viable eggs Id take her to a vet to be safe. Ive never cooled a female with eggs in sight, only when needed by my opinion that they were not ready to lay more eggs.

I know you did not cool her but those temps are not optimal for an egg producing female.

Do you have an Under tank heater? and how is she being housed? I have a couple of thsoe stick on UTH's I don't need and can send you one.

As long as your female is eating, showing no signs of acute stress or lethargy, not losing weight, and she has an appropriate place to lay her eggs, I wouldn't worry too much at this point.

Great news guys i managed to get a better uth for her tank and today, pop we got an egg. It wasn't laid in her lay box but it still came out!

The uth i had for her was really old, and was probably on its last leg so i got a new one, so far so good! And thank you all for your advice so much!
