• In the past two days I have gotten emails asking about being requested to provide credit card info in order to register and also to make a post in the classifieds forums. PLEASE NOTE: In no instance will this site ask you for this sort of information. The only time any request for payment is made is if you choose to opt-in for a higher membership level, and that is done SOLELY through PayPal. Anything else is coming from a source other than this site. My guess is that this is coming through Google Adsense, but when I can get someone to send me a screen shot of this sort of request, I will know more.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

I rescued a new boa yesteday and cant seem to figure out what she is. When she was dropped off I was told she was a redtail, but i dont see it. She is in shed right now but let me know what you think. She is about 4 feet long and told she was roughly 2 years old.

Definitely Boa constrictor, aka the redtail or common boa. Looks like a Central American redtail boa to me?

Which is my guess as well. If you had some clearer shots of the head and full body/tail it would make it easier. But I am 99% sure its a nic. or BCI cross. Where is the "hint" of BCC?

Lol He was saying it is a Nic and not a hint of BCC, Jeremy. =-p Check out the comma usage.

Looks like a Nic to me too.

A words of advice. OK, several words...Shedding (ecdysis) is a delicate process. During the blue faze they are secreting fluids from their new skin. They are very susceptable to infection and fungal attack if you tear the skin too early by handling.

Best to leave them be once they are starting their slough, until they are done. Doesn't hurt to raise the humidity a little during that time either.

Good luck with your new critter.

She wasn't shedding at this point she actually was done before rescue (i was misinformed) her eye caps didn't come off until this morning

Just going by those pictures. Everything about those pics says it's in shed process. Retained eye caps clear up, they don't stay blue. They ONLY get blue when shedding. If it retained eye caps, it could be going through another molt in an effort to rid itself of the stuck shed.

Even a better reason to get the humidity up. Best to catch shed issue when they arise. If you don't, the problem gets worse.
