(2)They are small (when born) they can fit in the palm of your hand.
(3)They nurse right away with their mommy and even nibble a little on her food a day or two after.
(4)The scientific name is Cavy.
(5)some think they came from South America and the Incas domesticated them.
(6)Some think they are called Guinea Pig because in England they weresold for a Guinea which is the name of a coin.
(7)Others think they were brought to Europe by Spanish sailors from a county called Dutch Guinea in South America.
(8)They need to gnaw to wear down their teeth so they don't get so long that they can't eat any more.
