In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Has anyone done business with him? For some reason his name rings a bell....good bad or whatever please let me know.

P.S....Neil I will move down there to be a permanent watch dog if you like, as long as I can take my collection with. Indiana weather stinks!

I talked to Hank some 15 years ago on the phone when he was visiting Tom Crutchfields Reptiles.  He gave me some sound advice about an emerald that had regurged shortly after purchase from Tom..LoL!
I have heard good things about Hank's quality of animals for years.  He's been around a long time and deals in above average, higher ticket herps.  I would probably buy from him.  He's "old shool" and probably very direct in his dealings... A "no nonsense" person to deal with I'm sure! I saw that he had some very nice looking blackhead pythons awhile back!

From a business stand point I`ve never gotten any thing from Hank that wasn't only nice it was OUTSTANDING! He says he `s a quality fanatic and that's a fact not hype.On a side note few people can claim to have have the kind of legacy in herpetoculture that Mr. Molt can.His impact and contributions on the reptile industry are immeasurable .   Ernie Eison

Although I have never made a purchase from Hank Molt, I have met him and spoken to him briefly. He is considered to be one of the most outstanding herpetoculturalists in the nation. His reputation is definitely on par with all the stellar breeders. He is mentioned on the www.vpi.com website. Go to mailbag section and do a search on Molt. Without Hank's efforts, this hobby would not be as far advanced as it is today. Once again I haven't purchased from him but you WILL UNDOUBTEDLY GET SUPERB QUALITY!!!

It doesn't get much better then Hank, he has forgotten more about the reptiles then most people in this hobby will EVER know. Great guy.

HANK MOLT IS KNOWLEDGEABLE ; HE HAS PROBABLY
FORGOTTEN MORE THAN I'LL EVER KNOW ABOUT REPTILES.
THE QUESTION IS: DOES HE ACTUALLY POSSESS THE
REPTILES HE OFFERS? OR DOES HE BROKER OTHER PEOPLES
REPTILES? AND DOES HE ACTUALLY HAVE ACCESS TO SAID
ANIMALS? THAT PRICELIST LOOKS A LITTLE TOO PERFECT.

I have done business with Hank in the past and will in the future as well.
He is one of the pioneers of the Herp industry.  The fact is he has rare species of top quality and he has access to some as well.  If you are looking for some extremely rare species of the best quality he is the person to go to.  If not all the reptiles are in his possession I don't care as long as he can locate me a top quality rare species.  That i do not have the access to. That is my 2 cents on brokering in general.  If it is for common species what is the use they are a dime a dozen but no if you contact him he will tell you all he deals with is rare species of the best quality.  And i have seen what he calls best quality, it is top of the line animals. Well, take care herpers

I purchased some things from him years ago and got good stuff. Treated me to his beer too. I doubt he remembers me though since I'm a small-timer.  I'd say your pretty safe in dealing with this guy. He has attained near icon status in this field. <img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'>

OK, I was going to keep quiet about this thread, but decided not too.  It seems like saying anything against anybody in this business is like signing a death warrant, but I needed to get this in the open.

First off, let me say that Hank has been doing this for quite some time now, and is VERY knowledgable when it comes to some pretty rare herps.

BUT, I have had nothing but bad experiences with Hank in the past.  The most recent concerned a snake that we had purchased, he promised us that he would get us a mate for it, which is pretty difficult for this species.  We bought the snake FOR that reason.  When he told us he had the mate, he had given it to a friend of ours at a show to deliver to us.  When we got it, it was a totally different species all together.  We were a little bummed, but then Hank was upset with us because we didn't pay him.....we hadn't seen him since we bought the first one, and didn't have ANY contact information for him whatsoever.

He's known for going behind dealers backs on deals they already have solidified, and if you really want an interesting point of view, ask his former Hotlanta Herp partners where all the snakes went........

Just my 2 cents here.  Deal with him if you like, but watch your back, I know many dealers that aren't too happy with his shady business ethics.

I don't think we'll ever buy anything from him again, but he can do his best to ruin our reputation.

Thanks,

I have known Hank Molt for many years.
All I will say on this subject is, he does deliver the goods.
It's so easy to beat up and bash people in the reptile industry.

But looking back over the years, I have found Hank to be an honest person when I have dealt with him on a one to one basis. Period.
Move on folks, enough of this crap, life is too short to hold grudges. Even I don't anymore.

I have to chime in and support Mark Childers' post -- Hank seems like a genuinely nice guy and he is certainly knowledgeable.  Despite that fact, I am convinced that the list on his website is fiction.  I have endeavored to buy a high ticket item from him for well over a month and I simply cannot get him to send me the animal.  Every time we talk he's extremely nice and tells me the animal is definitely mine but then he tells me not to send money.  This is definitely the strangest transaction I have ever NOT made (though still stand willing to make) in my own 30 years of buying, selling and keeping reptiles!
