• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Has Anyone Dealt With The Exporter Jack Kaddu? From Ghana And Benine

I have never done business with him but I would be very weary of him. I have seen him advertise on some forums that he is from Uganda, then he says he is from Tanzania, then he says he is from Ghana, and Benin. He sounds like he is another typical scam artist waiting to take your money.

I recieved an email from him in reply to a wanted ad I posted for an australian species of skink (listed common and scientific name in ad). He stated he was from africa and could get me plenty (first tipoff I'd think!) to which I couldn't resist replying that I was genuinely interested if he could provide references.

I'm still waiting for his reply 2 weeks later :eek:

Let's be realistic here. Just how often do you hear of an established exporter from Africa randomly emailing solicitations for buisness?
Especially randomly soliciting people who are not importers, have no actual buisness in which they buy and sell herps on a constant basis in any quantity.

Importers generally closely guard their overseas contacts. If those contacts were regularly emailing every Tom Dick and Harry that posted an ad on an internet site, there would be nothing to keep private to begin with.
The real exporters have an established customer base. While I'm sure if I contacted one of them looking to make a $5000 order, they would happily do buisness with me, they are not out actively drumming up buisness among the general reptile community, 99% of which have never, nor will ever import anything directly.

In my opinion, any email solicitation of this nature should be automatically viewed as a scam. An exporter isn't going to contact some random individual who would never need even the minimum order any more than some displaced foriegn government official is going to email a random person in the US for help getting 53 million dollars out of the country. I'm sure you've recieved those emails as well.
The bogus exporters are just a slicker version of the same routine targeting a specific audience and therefore making them seem more believable.
