In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

I had a WTB listing up 3ish days ago.
Received an email pretty quickly from a fellow asking if im still buying. I answer yes. He sends me a photo of exactly what im looking for, a very fine example of a Black Gap area Alterna. It was just the 1 photo and all he wrote was "here's the picture, where do you live?"

I wrote back - ( actually, hang on, too long, ill post screenshots.)

Ok screenshots are attached.
I distorted his name because im not 100% sure, and id hate to ruin someone's name in vain. HOWEVER. Neither Google nor my AI program can find anything, anywhere on the internet with his name or email address thats associated with any sort of reptiles. The only thing that comes up with the email add is folks complaining about him attempting to scam.

My question- has anyone here with a WTB ad lately received anything like this?

Thanks in advance

Ps- I never got the photo. Idk if it's because ive offended him or beause he was trying to steal a quick $120. My alarm bells went off with the second message from him "here's the photo, where are you located?". The price, animal origin and lack of basic shipping knowledge just about confirmed it.
But admittedly I dont know for a fact. Maybe he's a casual pet owner with limited knowledge?

My point though, trust that first instinct and if it seems too good to be true..... well you know.

Sure would like to have that alterna for 120$ though.
