Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Has anyone ever heard of Ariel Cudia?

I made a purchase of some juvenile crested geckos at a show from him in late 2006. He promised they'd all mature to female, and they have; they're also all very even-tempered animals and are feeding well and growing nicely. His prices were competitive too, compared to quite a few online dealers I've come across.

One thing to be aware of - his care sheets (from 2006 anyway, when I purchased the animals) recommended baby food as a staple alongside crickets, when many crestie dealers are currently pushing the Crested Gecko Diet. However, I spoke at length with him and he claimed to have dealt with these animals for years now. He also sold CGD powder as well as vitamin powders, and after having done my own research on feeding and care, I decided to purchase from him as he had morphs I was interested in. There was no problem getting the animals switched over from baby food to the varied Repashy/CGD meals.

I had a bit of an issue with the statement on the bottom of his (2006) caresheet that said (quoting here verbatim, as I saved it):
"Once you purchase an animal from me, you have taken the liberty of taking care of the creature with proper knowledge and education given specifically by me. By not follow [sic] these guidelines and the animal's [sic] dies, you f*cked up. Seek psychological help."

However, his demeanor in my small dealings in person did not carry this same brusque attitude, and he made sure I had his e-mail and phone number to contact him if I had any issues with the animals.

Was there anything wrong with the animals you purchased? I googled his name and was wondering if it's the same person. Do you have any other information about him?

Like I said, the animals I purchased are healthy, growing fine, eating fine, switched over to CGD easily, and very easily handled. The Ariel Cudia I dealt with deals (or at least dealt; it's been a few months for me) out of the Lake County Reptile Show and the Chicagoland Animal Hobbyist Expo under the business name Acurit Gecko Design.

I do know that I had read some other feedback on him on another forum, but as I don't personally know the person/people the feedback came from, I'm unwilling to re-post that information here. If you like, you can send me a private message and I'll point you in that direction and decide for yourself. I can also send you pictures of the animals I purchased the day I purchased them, and give you current photos as well.

Ariel Cudia has proven to be good to his word time after time. He will provide excellent references. I have four of his Geckos, they are very good looking, very easy to handle from day one. He is available to answer questions. Response time has always been within a reasonable time period.

Ariel is very honest, concerned with any quesion you might have.

Definitely a 10 recommendation.

He is usually at the DuPage County Fairgrounds, Next date -- ALL ANIMAL EXPO on 6/2/07. He is as nice in person as he is by E-Mail.

Prior to the introduction of the crested gecko diet many people raised many crested geckos using baby food and crickets. I am sure many still do. Just because many crestie dealers are pushing the CGD doesn't mean those who do not are producing inferior animals.

Indeed. That's why I said it was just something to be aware of. I've just encountered a lot of extremely vocal pro-Crested Gecko Diet folks who immediately believe that because someone feeds supplemented baby food, this means he's a bad breeder, and I didn't want any of those folks jumping on me for recommending someone who is sticking mostly by the "old ways."

I believe the rest of my post indicates that the animals I received from him are thriving, and that he dealt with me well. The only real issue I had was the "seek psychological help" line of his care sheet, and even that was a small issue.

Does anyone else find it ironic that Ariel's license place on his car is Acurit1, this is also his chosen user name on another gecko site.
From this, we know he likes to choose 1 to describe himself. Now look at the user who started this thread!
ASC1....
Ariel S____ ( don't know middle name) Cudia1.... these were my first impressions of this thread.
:shootfoot

When a quick google search is done on 'Ariel S. Cudia', it comes up with several listings for KRAFT foods, also Ariel's listing for profession elsewhere, which confirms his middle name does start with S.
:shootfoot

So to finish it off, and comparing birthdates.... ASC1 on this forum has listed a birthdate of
February 14, 1972

well what do you know, when compared to the listed birthdate of the known Ariel Cudia on another site, it's exactly the same!
:shootfoot

Now don't get me wrong, I have nothing wrong with trying to find out how people feel about you as a business man etc. I'd love to know how people feel about me, as would most people. But going about it in this manner just seems a bit 'shady' to me.....

These could all very well be coincidences as well, and if so I'm sorry ASC1, AKA Salvador Robles.... but something just doesn't seem right to me about this one!

Now that you mention it, I believe "ASC1" was the nickname Ariel was using on the Lake County Reptile Show's forums when it was up (it now seems defunct, however, so I can't back that up, and I tend to be bad with acronyms and numbers, which is why I didn't mention it). If ASC1 is Ariel, this does seem kind of sneaky - I would have been happy to post my experiences with him here if he'd only asked! It had just slipped my mind to do so. I do understand that sometimes businessfolks want to find out their standing in the community without bias; I just wish it had been done more straightforwardly.

As Mr. Gilpin said, if ASC1 is not actually Mr. Cudia, I apologize, but it does seem odd that they share birthdays.

Thank you Andrew, but ASC stands for All State Champions. My bowling team won not too long ago. My birthday is 2/14/82. Accidentally selected 1972. The reason why I was looking him up is that I was referred by someone. I heard good and bad things about him. So, I'm trying to make sure that my transaction will be smooth. I'm sorry for the confusion. But you seem to know alot about him, can you tell me more? I'll try googling him.

Jaybee,

Understood, I didn't mean to imply anything. You did make it clear that the animals were in good condition. I just wanted to point out that people can produce very high quality cresties without the CGD.

This is quite interesting. Andrew, I didn't know you cared. I love you man. But seriously, you've been watching too many detective stories. I'm really tired of this. I really do not need this type of attention. You want the sale that bad, buddy. Take it. Your assumptions are quite ignorant. So here I am. The one you so called the "shady one".

Sal,
Do what you feel necessary to purchase the ideal animal you want. Mr. Flamer will take care of you. Please do your research first.

Jaybee,
The statement that was written in my caresheet was not to be taken seriously. I apologize if it offended you or anyone. It was all out of fun. If I was rude or my demeanor was not to your liking please accept my second apology.

Sschind,
I do not who you are and thank you. I believe that in my caresheet it stated that CDG was mixed with the baby food or fed to the crickets.

Stormyone,
Thank you.

Ariel
aka "Acurit1"

you know what I find most amusing about this? is how ASC1 won't respond to PMs or emails! and do you know why that is? because it's ariel!

Ariel has nice healthy crested geckos that are well represented at the shows. He's always more then willing to take the time to inform people about his animals etc... I would not hesitate to buy from him you will not be disappointed. :)

Ron

I guess I should share the good about ariel considering I'm not out to give him a bad name or anything ( I just think he's a bit shady).
Ariel does have nicely represented, healthy animals at shows.

Here's what I don't agree with.
He keeps all animals, ranging from males through young females ( that shouldn't be bred yet), even unsexed animals all in the same enclosure for display at a show. For an example, a 15 gallon equivalent or so exo-terra enclosure, with 10-15 cresteds of all different sizes. Not only is this bad enough, but he leaves the front doors wide open while the show is going on! ( I don't think I have to explain why this is bad).

There are many other things we've been told by Ariel, and I'm not going to list them all here.... but random BS such as.... " did you know if you leave many unsexed juvenile crested geckos in the same enclosure, you will end up with more females due to natural selection?"....??? I'd hate to break it to ya Ariel, but the sex it determined in the egg, most likely within the first 2-3 weeks of incubation!

Just remember, I didn't start this thread, and I don't trash talk people publicly without good reason for it.

I think it's good Ariel that you want to clear your name, I really do. But if you're going to do it, you need to not go back to your old ways to try to find out what people think about you!

I'm sure I'll be getting a lecture at the Lake County show from you, but there's no need for it. I'm not sorry for anything I've said, because it's only caused by things you do or say yourself.

Andrew Gilpin

Sounds like flame wars between 2 competing vendors. Cmon now guys leave this stuff out of the forums we have enough of this B.S. going on already. Both of you people have good animals just worry about yourselves not what the other people are doing ;)

Every thing I've said about 'natural selection' is theoretical. Meaning not proven. Temperature sex determination. C'mon you know better. I have nothing against you Andrew, but I've had cresteds way before you had them. What I do is based upon experience. My method is the way I see fit to care for my animals. All this trash should be remove from all of these forums. If my animals in anyway are in bad condition then expose me. Your opinion or argument on the use of baby food is absurd. I work for one of the largest food company and don't you think I would have an idea what is good or bad for the geckos. Let's not make this a national scene. You have a problem call me. You have my number. Talk this out.. Don't bring my name up where ever you feel it is necessary to degrade me.

You're a liar and you've been had, "Sal" erm Ariel. Your IP's all resolve to Phillip Morris Companies, Inc (now Altria), the former owner of Kraft foods (the last 88% of which was spun off to shareholders about two months ago and which has been referenced as your employer and who is the asignee on a patent that you hold - see http://www.patentstorm.us/patents/7094439-claims.html).

The fact that you were stupid enough to use your own initials and date of birth are bad enough, but what really makes you untrustworthy is that you then lied about it. If you'd lie about something as easily found out as that makes me wonder what other things you would lie about.

BUY FROM ARIEL S CUDIA AT YOUR OWN RISK. HE IS A LIAR.
