    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

... Of adopting reptiles from a rescue?
Yeah they might not be available for breeding purposes, but those small hobby enthusiasts.. has anyone ever adopted a reptile from an exotic rescue before?

Just curious...

I've never adopted from a rescue but I've picked up an abused Ball before. It turned out to be a really nice snake. I would be interested in adopting from a rescue but I don't know where you would look to find one.

Well theres very few exotic pet rescues at least as far as I know.
And usually I look around on www.petfinder.com for stuff.
Usually I check up on the animals from my own shelter (which only does dogs/cats), and post them to FB for added public attention.
But usually when im bored ill surf through the "scales, fins and other" types of pets and usually find a lot of ones there.
Too bad I dont live closer to Iowa, Wisconsin or Colorado.. :rolleyes:

Year, I've looked at the once on petfinder before but the distance is insane. I wish they shipped, and for free too. If were going to adopt and give it a good home and get it out of the system, that would be something nice they could do for us.

I just deleted the entire first paragraph of my response, and am starting over, in an attempt to be at least somewhat nice.
Legitimate rescues have costs - both for daily operation and bringing the animals to suitable condition for adoption. In many cases the fees don't even come close to covering those costs...and you think they should ship for free?

I'm not against rescues, or "rescuing" animals...heck, I used to do quite a bit of rescuing, adopting, and fostering. Why not seek out your nearest herp society and become involved? Many take in unwanted animals, and are in need of good homes for them. Even temporary homes until animals can be placed are a help.
Of course,a lot of those animals are poorly cared for....they may have health issues, mites, internal parasites, etc; but you'd be giving them a good home, and keeping them out of the system, right?
