Responding to email notices you receive.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

As stated, Michael Clark is common. Where is he located?
If it is the Mike Clark that Jim referenced, then my opinion is the same as his.

He is in NJ according to where i WAS to ship the snakes.
He wanted to purchase 2 red tail boas that I have.We agreed on a price(I came down $200.00 dollars to meet his budget because I thought/think he would give them a great home) and made an agreement via e-mail.I tried very hard to accomadate Mr. Clark.I am still holding the 2 snakes as he requested me to do the week before Thanksgiving.I was away from the computer for 10 hours and when i checked my email and replied to an email he had sent to me,he came back with "I went with another option because i didn't hear from you" it was oNLY 10 hours and I have 5 kids and a job!He then said he still wanted them so we negotiated etc.He said he wasn't comfortable paying for the snakes before I shipped them so I even agreed to accept payment for 1 and ship it then,after he got the first snake he would send payment for the second and I would then ship it.He said he would pay shipping.I don't usually do things this way but was trying to make him more comfortable and meet his needs.Then I didn't recieve payment and sent e-mails to inquire the date it was sent.After several unanswered emails he finally responded acting as though he didn't remember a thing.i have the emails still from beginning to now.He keeps saying he is a man of his word and will make it right,but I am still waiting on that.I gave my word to hold the snakes and i have done that.I have talked to a couple of other people interested in the snakes the last few days but will not commit to anything at this time because I gave Mike my word.But.....
I am hoping you all can give me some insight if you have had good or bad experiences.
I am NOT saying he is "bad" or "untrustworthy" and I am not trying to make him look bad,I am just looking to understand.I still hoping this was just a mistake and not normal behaviour for him.

Angel, you have been MORE than accomodating. If he said he would send payment and didn't, he has already broken your agreement. I understand you wanting to keep your word.......but you have a lot more patience than I. If it were me, I would simply email him, and tell him that he has until a certain date to get you the money, or you will have to sell the snakes elsewhere. He cannot expect you to hold them indefinitely witout so much as a deposit.

Angel, IMHO you just sell them to next in line, It looks like he's just preying on your good nature, And will most likely never send you $$.

Angel, there's a lot of "window shoppers" in this business who will do the same....whether they initially intend on paying but something else comes along, or just have second thoughts, or just say they are going to buy them and realize that they can't afford it or don't have the room to keep them. Many breeders will not hold an animal at all until they have a deposit in their hands....I will hold for as long as it would take to get a money order here, or perhaps a bit longer.......but that's it. You've been more than accomodating, regardless...no one could blame you for selling them elsewhere at this point, IMO.
