Has anyone heard of Tim Koppenhof?

Contacting Tim over this really will not do anything. Tim is a great guy. One of the nicest people in the business but if you bought it from Dan then Dan is the one you need to contact.

I know both of them and as John said we vend shows that both Dan and Tim vend. But as far as I know Dan and Tim are not partners.

Dan is also a great person. He would not knowling sell a sick animal. I will shoot him a email also about this thread. It is only right he can be here to answer this thread.

I know them both and. The both are great people. I have bought stuff from both Dan and Tim. ANd never once had an issue with any of them.

I understand what you say, but first. I get no answer on my calls to Dan. Never did. Second the snake was produced by a Tim Koppenhof (according to papers) I want to know where this snake came from and if anyone else perhaps had problems with this clutch perhaps.

Dan seemed to sell for a Tim??? (papers say he got it from a Tim). I could be wrong, but he would not be a reliable source if he had the snake a few days (if that) and shipped it out, i want to know the breeder.

That only makes sense. And it would seem that Dan and This wrong name i have are doing business. I know Dan does rescues, i hope this is not a rescue sold to me, if they do not do business together.

I will wait until Tim or Dan chimes in. It's all pretty cool. Tomorrow is the 4rth, i have a choice of hitting the 24/7 animal clinic which does not do snakes well, or wait for my herp. vet.

Again, i want contact with who ever bred out this snake as well.

Where it came from actually.

I'm upset, but hey this could be a disease from birth starting to show up, or something that went around my air. I'm not eager to shoot blame.

Just looking for info.

I do not know of a Dan - not to say that I may have of sold a snake to him! I sell a lot of snakes to people at shows & never get a name!!

Ok well we will wait till Dan comes here so he can shed some light on this then. As far as I know then the snake you got had nothing to do with Tim Koppenhoffer. Dan did have normals and if you got one of those cool still should be eating and all. I have many baby boas someitmes they don't always take f/t or they may not be hungary. So we shall wait and see. But make sure your temps are right in the cage/rack its in too.

I'm far from perfect, but keep 12 different snakes. Never had but one very minor problem a year ago with a Boa. My longest kept is 15 yrs now (Boa)!

Temps are great, humidity is fantastic! It happens.

I blame no one. Want more info. since it's sick. Sorry but i have the wrong name on my papers...i would do a copy for you all (and will) but lets see if that was a mistake on Dans part. And is this guy came from a Tim.

I do have a 100% het albino from tim copenhofer that you where originaly going to buy but ended up getting the normal instead. I have not recieved a call or email from anyone regarding this situation. The snake is not well. Just need to know maybe how long you had it, etc.

the snake you have is not from Tim coppenhof. The boa that you bought from me is from a local hobbiest that had a very attractive clutch at a cleveland show. I traded some animals for those boas. I have had these snakes for about 3 months now, all the ones from the same clutch that i currently have are doing awesome. I have seen no evidence of disease or parasite infestiaton and i do stand behind the animals i sell 150% I have not recieved any messages on our answering machine or you would have defiantly gotten a returned call.

As far as the rescue animals, my girl friend rescues sick animals, I absolutly do not resell any rescue animals and they are not housed in the same facility, my girlfriend does all the rescueing and has no part in the animals the I sell and vise versa. I assure you that this snake is defiantly not a rescue

I know of the clutch Dan is talking about. I got boas from the same guy. All mine are 100% fine. I think I have 5 or 6 left from that group. I know of the group of boas.

As for Dan selling rescues. He never has ever done anything like that. I see his animals at the shows monthly. and I even have purchased from him. Dan is a very upfront guy.

But now that I know where the boas came from and I have part of that group I can say that I have had no issues with the group. All are eating F/T mice once a week. I even got a Orange Tail Poss Super Hypo off the same guy. No issues with that either.

I am posting becuase I have knowledge of that group of snakes.

I also have some of the boas out of the same clutch Pamela. All mine are doing great. Now that I know what snake you got I can clarify. I got like 8 left and sold a lot of them myself and all mine are on f/t mice and no problems here. Dan stands by his animals. We bought a lot from him. So give it time and I am sure it will be ok so give it some time/.

Dan this is wrong paper work! The snake is sick, i want a refund and the animal will be shipped to you. He's flipping on his back...the het was not a product of Tim as stated from you either in my personal email...

You have spelled Tims name 5 different ways, none right..

What happened?

I spoke with Tim, the only litters he produced this year are in MAY!

You have misrepresented the snake in question.

John is my brother. I am actually sitting infront of the animals now. I have 6 left from that group.

It was just a local guy that set up two tables down from me at the Cleveland Show. He was selling baby boas he produced. Also had the Hypo that John and I got.

The boas looked in great health and the guy wanted some of the things we had and we traded.

I have not had any issues with any of my boas I received from the guy. I have not heard any bad things about them from any of my customers either. a few went to very very good customers of mine in Taylor michigan at the reptile show there. I know they would have called me if there was an issue.

I do not want to get in the middle of this. I am just posting the info I have. I even have pics of the ones I got of the guy.....

That there are two of them out of the group we got from the person in cleveland.

The snake you got was not from Tim Koppenhofer. Those snakes were the het albino circlebacks that you originaly wanted. All the normal red-tail boas from this guy at the Cleveland Reptile Show's clutch are doing fine except for yours. Did you spray any mite products, put any no-pest strips, or clean out the cage with any harsh cleaners?
And there are several posts on Dan's myspace with pictures about how much you loved the snake but if the snake was acting weird, why didn't you contact Dan through his myspace account as soon as it happened? Since thats how your friend contacted him in the first place, and got quick responses?

I have animals from the same group not showing any signs of anything other then a normal boa. I would have seen something by now. and I too have a lot of animals.

Pamela I am Co Owner of Pro Herps and Gary is my brother. So we are talking the same snakes. We are just a little off on the numbers lol. He says 6 I say 8 so it is something like that I have too many normal boas and will have to check on who is who u know. But we forgot his name as he is not a really known big breeder. More of a local guy that bred a few boas. If the snake has a disease then the others should have it too. Which none of the ones we have do and according to Dan none of his do and I will take his word. So it must of picked up something along the way or something. I just wanted to clarify I will try to get the name of the breeder but technically it is not his problem any more as he sold us and Dan the boas a few month ago. So he had no guarantee on them. But I will see what I can come up with and hopefully can help everyone in this situation.
