    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

hasn't eaten in a month

Congrats!!

Totally agree with Maki and Bob. My diva (albino female) will only take smaller light colored rats. Weird buggers!

Short story, waay back when normal breeding size females were expensive, I bought one for a bit over $600. Darn girl didn't eat for 11 months. After losing almost half her body weight, I tube fed her a couple times and then she finally started eating 4-5 mice regularly. I can't seem to breed mice and they are $2 each locally, so I sold her to someone that could deal with her live mouse feedings. Of course the normal market was much lower when I sold her.

My Caramel male seems to prefer rat pups... He eats them without hesitation, but if I offer him anything bigger - even a weanling - he just balls up and hides. He's close to 400g, so I know he could eat something bigger.... sometimes they're just stubborn:rolleyes:.

Yay she ate!!

I have a pin het albino that didn't eat for two months after being shipped. I tried everything live mice, FT mice, FK mice, live rats, FT rats, FK rats and I almost went to gerbils when I decided to try one last thing... I have always used tongs for all of my snakes until I got one normal recently that would only eat a FT rat if I left it on the floor and left her alone. She would not strike it and just eat it like she had already killed it. So I tried this with my girl and she woulnd't eat it all day... then as soon as the son set and the lights were off POOF, it vanished. I could have cried I was so happy LOL. But now she will only eat a FT rat during/after sunset when left unattended. Both of these girls will not kill a live rat nor strike at a dead one. They just casually find it, open up and eat it.

For younger hatchlings, I have had success just leaving hoppers in their hides and I usually find them gone in the morning.
