    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Last year I didn't uses tubs for my hatchlings, they were in 5 gal tanks (only had 6 babies so it didn't take up too much room with all those tanks).

This year I've got my new hatchling rack made with 6qrt tubs. I've been keeping one clutch per tub till about 2-3 weeks of age, then seperating them.

My questions are:

1. What size tubs does everyone use for hatchlings, and do you also put the clutch in one tub together at first then seperate, or one hatchling each tub from the begining?

2. At what size do they get promoted to a larger tub and what size tub do you move them to? I have 18 qrts, but that seems like too big of a jump, and I want them to feel secure.

I keep my hatchlings in 6qt tubs. I do keep pairs in them untill they are about 15g grams. Then I house them individually in the 6qts till they are 25g or so. I then put them into 12qt or 15qt tubs. It depends on which rack they go into.

Thank you, Jeremy. I guess I can leave clutches together a little longer, just seems cramped in there for two once they start to grow. I'm sure it looks a lot larger to them, when they are small like that. (Oopps, I have 15qrts not 18)

I also keep my hatchlings in 6qt tubs in pairs in them untill they are about 10-15g grams, or until one gets larger than the other. Then I house them individually in the 6qts till they are 25g or so, then put them into 15qt tubs.
