In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I was gonna start building rack for babies next year what size tub should I use and for how long. Would a 6 qt be suffcient for 1 yr then a 28 quart for yr 2 and yr 3 and up a 41. That sound about right?

Well thats what was gonna do but i did not want to go to big or small. I wanted to avoid the 6 qt go with 16 qt and split tubs in half or 2 hatchlings in each. I dont wanna have to build to many racks. I already have adult rack so no problems there. Do u think if i got a 16 qt tub how long would that keep them in that size. Then a 28 qt later then 41

My snakes tend to grow out of 6qt tubs around 4 months old on average.
If your looking for a hold back tub for babies that last a little longer, 15 or 16 qt tubs work well.
I raise my holdbacks in 28qt tubs and they do awesome in that size, some people prefer to use smaller tubs, it's one of those to each his/her own.
My yellowbelly females all grew to about 1000 grams at a year old being raised in 28 or 34 quart tubs from hatchlings.

Well i only may keep a few per batch really depends on future breeding. I intend to sell babies but i just have no clue how long they will b around before being sold. I know there is good market out there but dont wanna get stuck and have no room. So my plans will be for 2 more racks that will give me at least a yr to sell off them. Ok thanks now gotta convince wife that will be the hardest. I cant wait till my other house is finished

I go straight from sterilite shoeboxes to 41 qts. I've heard tale of some balls not liking an overly large tub, but so far all of mine have made the transition fine.

Generally I just use 6qts to get babies feeding, once they're eating well I move them to 16qt tubs. Then to 32 or 41qt depending on the snake.

I do it this way:

6 qt for hatchlings to 250 grams
15qt for 300-600 grams
28 or 32qt for 600-1450ish
41qt 1450+

If you build your 32qt racks sideways you can swap 1 32qt for 2 15qts whenever you need to. So that is a duel rack. I have 4 racks like this and they are great.

This year I have some smaller hatchling tubs that are about 1/2 the size of a 6qt. I use these for fresh hatchlings and move them to 6 qts once the shed/eat once. These were originally bought for sand boa neonates but I know others who use them for Ball hatchlings... You can get them here (he will sell the tubs themselves if ya email em):
