Yesterday, I took down my moderator colors & changed my user title to make a post that at least one person would claim was inappropriate for a moderator. Truth be told, I was half expecting that it might turn into a handful of posts - and I wanted to make it obvious that those posts were from me, as plain ol hhmoore, rather than a representative of this site.
During that period, I received some inquiries - here, on Facebook, and via email - about whether I'd stepped down as a moderator. I responded to each one individually; but, looking back at them as a group, the combined effect was quite moving. The messages really meant a lot to me, especially this evening when my day slowed down enough to truly appreciate them.
