Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them.     Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Heat Cable Wattage ?

How do you measure the watts you are pulling with heat cable - I know my AP rack is pulling around 167 "because they say so" - I know the flexwatt per foot, but can't find anything on heat cable - I'm particularly interested in that which comes along with the vision versa racks...

They use the ZooMed heat cable...I'm pretty sure it is the 50w length
 
Generally heat cable runs 2-5 watts per foot - however actual wattage is very dependent on the maker, footage and application. Reptile specific cable tends to run in the 2-3 watt per foot range whereas the heat cable used for pipes runs anywhere from 5-10 watts per foot.

Thanks - I checked out ZooMeds sight, and they list the wattage to available lengths - Vision does not list what type of heat cable it comes with, or length or wattage so that was the info I was looking for...

I'll just call it 10 watts per foot on the safe side when the cable comes into question - Thanks for your help...
