    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

does anyone here use heat cord to heat their enclosures or rack systems(which i care more about)? if so, can u post some pics of it? thanks, also post how u use it and if it adds alot to the electric bill, thanks alot

well i dont have a rack or anyhting yet but im going to. but i have heard people saying that heat cords or wires are bad. best thing ive heard to use is flex wat heat tape with a good thermostat. but im getting my rack soon im ordering it from boaphile. its gonna house my geckos for now. im tierd of useing tanks with lots of heat pads. they take up lots of space.

Animal plastics uses heat cable in their racks with the indirect backheat option. I've got four of them. Left unregulated I think it runs at over 120+. I've got my racks hooked up to a Helix thermostat and the temperatures rarely fluctuate a degree from what I set them at. The racks came with grooves routered into the shelves and during assembly the cord is just kind of woven through. I'm not sure what it does to the electric bill :rolleyes: but I'm happy with it.

I likes them better in somehow. It doesn't burns out like Flexwatt but you has to use thermostat to keep in control. In my option they are just the same and need use the thermostat! Any heating elements must have thermostat and no matter what. :hot: :slamit:

I use heat cord with a proportional thermostat, works well. I agree they should never be used without a thermostat, in fact I have been considering a backup.
