In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

My thoughts go out to those suffering through the current heave wave (and having to budget for August electric bills). It has been very hot here in Texas, but I heard from someone in AZ where they expect temps will reach 111 tomorrow.
Be careful. Going outdoors in extreme heat for even a little while can knock your socks off.

At 3:00pm today the "feels like" temp was 127.0 degrees. :ack2:

Then it clouded up, rain came pouring down, and dropped the temps WAY down.

Of course, humidity level is at 96%.

It was just a good day to just stay inside.

I live 32 miles east of San Francisco.
Coming home from work Wednesday thru Friday last week it was 106 degrees at 3:00pm
I don’t like it at all.
I’m to old for this heat.
Get off my lawn.

Mean while my daughter is living in and taking care of our retirement house rent free in the PNW and enjoying 75-80 degree temps.
I’m such a sucker :).
Andy.

My son is fixing to move to the PNW. I love Texas and for now have chosen to stay but August here is just horrible.

I got the bad news that both my upstairs and downstairs air conditioner/heat pump units will need replacing sooner rather than later. The downstairs one is already letting me know that it may not make it past August. Ugh that's a $6k bill I do not need.

He is going to like it.
I do and every 8 weeks or so I spend a week there.
I actually like the rural area politics.
It more or less leave me alone and I’ll leave you alone.
Non of the big City stuff.
Being a centralist I dig it.
Been there 30-40 times and never seen Seattle.
I heard I wouldn’t like .
If it wasn’t for August I could see me being a Texan.
Sounds like my kinda people.
Good luck to your Son.
Andy

Good luck to your Son.

Thank you. He and his wife spent a week looking around last month and sent pictures to Grandma (me). It is so beautiful there!! Yesterday son was over to set up Skype so I can see them and my grand baby once they move.

Ugh that's a $6k bill I do not need.
Yeah it's one of those crucial (but not fun) purchases.

Temps dropping here now. By 5 tonight should be able to open window and put fan in for some decent sleep. Spent 5 hours on a roof top fixing jail a/c yesterday. My building is on one of the highest area's in NE Ohio. Not fun. I sucked down 3 gatoraides and I was still thirsty.

AZ

Let's talk Hot, yesterday was like 113F, today 109F at 4:00MST

Next 7 looks like this:

Dry Heat

Yeah, tell my door handles, steering wheel, seat belt buckles and any thing else I have to touch that it's a "dry heat". Pretty sure metal doesn't understand "dry"! But it's OK, because on Christmas we can open presents by the pool! LOL!
