In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

After advertising on an another site for wanting "tame male rhino iguana", I received a e-mail response from Heather Tereshka of LnH Reptiles and More stating that she had one for sale. She wanted $300 money gram sent to her which I did promptly. When we received the iguana two days later, we were in for a huge surprise as what we found was a green iguana and not rhino iguana. after many phone calls and e-mails asking her to refund the money so that I can send the green iguana back to her, she e-mailed me back and told me that the sales is final and there will be no refund. I was even willing to pay shipping both ways, which are not inexpensive. She is definitely a scam-er and should be avoided at all cost.

Her information is as follows:

Moneygrams are a no no, almost a sure sign of questionable practice, no recourse whatsoever just like with western onion payments, just brings tears to yer eyes when ya don't get what you pay for and theres nothing you can do about it.

so sorry to hear you got taken, :-(

Do you have copies of emails or other communications, any pictures that were exchanged, pictures of the iguana you actually got, that you could post?

Did they send you a picture of your "Dog Tame Rhino Iguana"?
I have attached photos- very disappointing= I hope htere was a mix up in boxes

Please make sure he is secure and can not rip out of the box. Make sure he is in a pillow case and pillow case is tied securely. Then you can put him in the box but please make sure the box is either protected with styrofoam or crumbled news paper. the whole box should be filled with crumbled newspaper so that he doesn't slide around in the box.

Thanks,
Ty

You can upload the photos to photobucket, flickr, or a number of other free hosting sites and use the insert image button to insert the images into the post.
I also see it mentioned in the first email that she was willing to send you photos of the iguana, did you receive the photos prior to purchase?

Yes, I posted it for only 2 days.....so it should not be on KS any longer. I should have asked her to send me a photo but I was careless, since I had such a good experience last few month acquiring my rock iguanas. I purchased 4.4 sub-adult/adult rhinos, one fantastic 1.5 year old females rhino advertised by Tom Crutchfield as "one of the best he has ever seen", one 4 year old female lewisi cross and eleven, 2009 lewisi cross babies.....so I was on a roll and became careless!

Ty sorry to hear about your new "special" GREEN iguana (must be for $300 bucks?) Did you alert them of this thread?

A seller cannot just say sorry, all sales are final. There are laws, that take precident over her TOS.

Dave

Is this rhino she sold one she produced or bought and flipped. She could of been taken for her money as well and didnt know it was a Iggy

Also Payments should be sent either Money Order, Certified cashiers Check from bank or Paypal. Never Moneygram

Disregard the Never Moneygram i lost train of thought

Any place that says all sales final is a no go for me.I would never have to say that as The few I sell are all raised by me and very nice even the 30 dollar snakes.I wish there were ways to weed these scum scam guys out .They just keep coming and we just keep falling.I am glad you had a run of good luck on your other purchases and that shows that there are still honest dealers around . Stick with those guys.`

Never ever purchase ANYTHING sight unseen. First mistake #1.

Second mistake is having an animal shipped from a person who does not know how to ship reptiles. You had to send her a shipping label AND give instructions on how to pack it.

I doubt very seriously you're getting anything back.

There are buyer /seller etiquette threads on fauna with tips. I suggest you read them and take them in. That may sound cold but the deal was bad and questionable from the start and if you're a long time buyer you should have seen the red flags. Not trying to be rude just giving my two cents.

Thanks Kevin....I will forward the email with the attachment from Anna to you. As for alerting her, I don't think she would care because I told her I would do this day before I posted this new thread. The purpose of this tread is not to get my money back but to alert people so that they can be aware. It was my stupidity......I should have know better, I tend to trust people too much.....but I rather be this way than be mistrusting of people, as in general there are FAR more nice people in this world than bad ones.

It is a bit hard to tell from such small pictures, but it doesn't seem to resemble the other pictures of rhino iguanas I've seen.

This shouldn't matter. If she was honest, she should return the money after she found out that she was misrepresenting the item. I was willing to pay for shipping both ways...so I would have been out $120 or so on shipping anyway and she would have lost nothing. I think I was more than generous.
