So I've recently bought a new 3 tub rack for my snakes to save on space. I've got belly heat and all that good stuff hooked up. I still have one of my larger rat snakes in a big tank. this tank has an UTH which really sucks because it gets way too hot so I have to cover it with something to prevent the snake from cooking itself.
So to the questions.. Would I be able to hook my thermostat up to a power strip and plug in both my heat tap and the heat pad? (I've thought about this and don't expect that to work due to reasons I'm too lazy to type out right now, just looking for some confirmation)
I've also read that using a lamp dimmer with the heat pad will work to lower the amount of power going to the pad. Looking for input on that.
The thermostat I'm using for my rack was a little expensive and I'm not looking to buy another anytime soon. I've seen way cheaper ones but I've read all kinds of negative reviews about them not lasting so I'm fishing for some cheap reliable ideas.
