In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

The only reason I did subscribe was to see what it was all about. I did know what was allowed there and it turned out to be pretty much what I expected. I went in few times, some for the jokes posted, decided it was not for me and I don't think I've been in in quite a while. I didn't bother to unsubscribe and so the topics keep popping up on the new post search. I am going to unsubscribe and see if they still keep showing up. I seem to recall seeing posts for the hell forum before I subscribed but I could be wrong.

If it is all totally hidden from anyone not subscribed (and that includes the new post search) then fine, leave it be. Otherwise, if the topic titles show up for everyone there is no place for it on a site like this.

I still think that some people will subscribe out of curiosity and if they don't like it it could diminish their view of the entire site even if they realize it is a totally voluntary forum. This can't be a good thing for the site as a whole. That is why I voted go.

This site has unique and immense value by providing a widely followed forum, the BOI, where people can say their piece and give their experiences with both good and bad vendors, helping those that follow to make an informed choice, and occasionally, in some cases even obtaining justice by allowing each party to present its point of view and come to an agreement.

There is wide latitude given to expression there, and sometimes, straight talk without sugar coating is best.

That has value.

But even there, 'red dress' talk demeans the site, blurs the issues, and doesn't further business decisions.

There is also some value in a place where friends can let their hair down and say what is on their mind. That has value too. But from what I understand, their is a 'chat group' that has forged close relationships and serves that purpose also.

There is less ability to go look back to chats than there is to go look back on the Hell forum. If you just want to let your hair down, to vent for the moment and get it all out of your system, wouldn't the chat group of friends be better?

To start, I will not deny that I have called someone out using the hell forum. but, in doing so I was wrong. I voted for stay, but I would like to add if it stays that it needs to be policed to make sure fight don't start there.

The hell forum has had many jokes, and links to funny or helpful stuff, or even people letting out frustrations with their life or reaching out for help with an issue. The main reason people have done this in Hell, from what I've seen, is the free use of profanity. Sometimes you just gotta say f***. It really helps relieve some stress.

So again, I say stay, but with some policing.

Stay, Stay. STAY!!!

I love the hell forum, always have!

I remember when hell was conceived, it was a special place for Wes and Neil to have at each other and keep it off of the BOI.

I remember when it was pay to enter and I continued to support it.

Gary, you have to admit, your "war room" was much more violent and disrespectful than "hell" is. Anything could be said in the "war room" excpet "child smack" Hell has it limits and the mods can issue points there and or ban memebers for attacking this site.

Lucille not everything in chat should be posted in "hell" and vise versa. Those of us who chat, rarely talk about things that we would post in hell. And it also depends on who is in chat at a given time. I have spent many an evening talking to my chat friends about serious health issues and personal things that I would never post publicly.

All in all, the hell forum is there for those of us who choose to post in it. Some of my best moments have been in that forum. The "three word game from hell" and scumbags were my 2 favorite threads. I have had the ability to speak my mind with out cluttering up the main boards or the BOI.

The profanity isn't welcome in chat, either, Lucille. While I don't go to chat with the intent of moderating, I'll intervene if things get out of hand. New people are welcome in chat...but a new name that comes in swearing and carrying on will find himself unwelcome in a big hurry.

Maybe I should come to chat to say this Laura, but I hope you are better and that you stay healthy and happy.

I was doing a google search on something (can't remember what right now) a few days back and stumbled onto a website run by a past member here who got banned a year ago. Man what a bunch of garbage there..... I read through some stuff over the past few days and I got to thinking about how infantile that appears and how it reflects on the site and staff in general... So then I started thinking about the HELL forum here, and I guess I started feeling embarrassed about what I am allowing within that forum. How does that reflect on this site and the staff here? Is that something I REALLY want for this site, myself, and the mods?

So let me know what you think about that forum. Should it stay or go? Basically all it has been lately is a place where one or more members can bash other members, which is not really what I had in mind with it anyway. But I hate to seem overbearing and not willing to listen to what the members want out of this site.

So please let me know your thoughts about this...

Rich I think the forum should stay. It does give people a place to let the mud sling if they feel the need. Not everyone has to view the threads posted and you do give a clear warning about the content.
I also do not think it reflects poorly on you or the site.

I gotta agree. If you can't take a a little mud on your face now and then, and laugh about it, you're probably not cut out for the job.
