In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hi all just a quick post to thank you all for making such a GREAT BBS!!!

Just a little about me ...... I've been into fish since 1960,salt water since 1982. (and I still am I have two fish tanks a 225 gal. and a 400 gal.)I got my first herp in 1996 a normal leopard gecko and she is still as healthy and happy as ever (I hand feed her.) Than about a year ago I decided to breed and sell dart frogs,so I now own about 160 or so frogs approximately 85-90 of which are of unique types I have about 10 pairs currently breeding. I am completely In love with them all. To that collection in November I will be adding 1.1 green tree pythons 1.1 Albino Western Hognose's,1.1 pair of 100% Het Axanthics which are 50% possible het Albino as well as 2.4 veiled chameleons and 2.3 nosy be panther chameleons.(I recently broke my femur(car accident)....no work allowed for 6 months titiaium rod and 4 screws in my leg for the rest of my life so lost my job ,,,,,got a one day a week job in a local fish store,,,,already talked them in stocking dart frogs :D )So things are starting to look up...., WAY UP

Thanks for taking the time to read all my bragging/tooting of my own horn. :lol01:

Tim's Leaping Lizards Frog Farm Inc.

I incorporated in august I'm the CEO. 75%-90% will be wholesale the rest will be sold from a yet to be built web site.
So PLEASE wish me all your luck and feel free to give me any and all advice!

I guess, with the way things to go, I would try to get into the less popular ones. otherwise everyone will have them, and you may not be able to sell them. Like, I know Veiled Chameleons are dirt cheap half the time because everyone seems to have them these days.

I would love to hear any and all advice you would care to give as far as what to raise feel free to either PM,email,or call :)

Either way thanks for the post!

First, Welcome to Fauna!

which should I concentrate most of my time on?

The ones you enjoy the most.

Nobody should make the decision for you and it shouldn't matter what's popular at the time. If you start thinking in terms of popularity and quick sell through the enjoyment level will go down. It really is easy to loose sight of why you breed herps when you try to cater to others.

My suggestion would be to pick a couple of your favorites and work with them for a few years. If you know your stuff and produce quality, good business will follow.

Great advice!

I couldn't agree more you have to love any animals you work with :)

I love all the ones listed in the pole pretty much equally hence the pole and the request for the advice :shrug01:

Hello

Hello,

Welcome to Fauna boards. :D

I agree, pick one or two that you want to focus on more, & start there. I know it's hard to pick, but whichever ones jump out at you more! LOL
