    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I'm Heather, 46 years young and a fellow reptile enthusiast.

I've kept ball pythons and had a green iguana for a decade- he hated everyone but me. :D I have a couple tarantulas, chinchillas, rabbits, fish tanks, fat kitties and 3 small very spoiled little dogs.

I've been researching and spending way too much money on supplies and a new terrarium so I can have a garter snake community, all females because I have no interest in breeding. I currently have two noodles, a checkered and an eastern. Eating like no tomorrow and so cute!

Also spending even more money to get myself a pretty hognose girl, again just for a pet to adore.

It's so fun spending money on reptile supplies but even more fun browsing for a hognose because they seem to be all sold out everywhere.

So yes, I spend a lot of my time looking at snake pics. :)

Welcome. :)

I also kept a green iguana, for 21 years. Terrible pets, overall, and I say that with fondness for the time I had with mine.

Hognose are a lot of fun to keep -- you'll enjoy one, I think. I was going to suggest you check out the upcoming NARBC expo for one, but you're quite a ways away from Schaumburg. Illinois is bigger than I realized. Certainly St Louis has some decent expos.

Thank you! :)

I'd love to go to an expo if one of my goofy reptile terrified friends would just chum along with me, I just don't want to go alone.

I have been seeing that it's hognose baby season so hopefully one of the breeders I've been checking out has one soon. I don't want a fancy morph, just a nice plain one. Hard to find, maybe I'll have luck soon.
