    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I have a terrarium that keeps getting infested with baby crickets.:( I saw this about a week or two ago and cleaned the terrarium out thoroughly and :confused:this morning I can see baby crickets running around all over the terrarium again.:confused: I was just wondering if there is anyone out there who has had this problem before that might be able to give some advice on how to sanitize the terrarium and any advice in general on keeping this from happening in the future would be wonderful :)

10 gallon glass terrarium
coconut fiber substrate
sm. log
sm. water dish

Are you sure they're crickets and not springtails? Springtails show up out of nowhere by the zillion, and they're decomposers. They won't leave the enclosure, and they're quite beneficial for cleanup, harmless to the animals. If they are crickets, you'll pretty much have to take apart the enclosure and start w/ fresh substrate. The only way to prevent them, assuming you're feeding adult crickets, is to not put in any females (they have an ovipositor sticking out the back end. You can look up photos).

Yes, I am pretty sure they are baby crickets not springtails :) Thanks though! I will change the substrate and try feeding just males :) and see how that works out!

There's my mistake :) I thought I was putting male crickets only in there but I had the sex reversed so I was putting only females in there! OOoops :) now I know! Thanks for the tip!
