    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Dirty politics has won! Both house bills concerning herps were added to another bill that wasn't contested. We need to call the governors office about this. Contact numbers below.

Dirty amendments are what get laws like this passed. Sneak something bad into a good bill. "Bill to fund shelters for homeless children -- psst and outlaw snakes" now who would vote against shelters for children

Did this go through Tim or just moved = has it been voted in yet?

We killed it

in the house and senate but the sleazy politician that proposed it, added it as a rider to a bill that already passed!

A permit system will probably be in place next April or November. Rumor has it that it can be purchased anywhere hunting licenses are sold. I've heard the price of $20 suggested.

I have spoken to a TPWD officer about this. It relly is not a problem unless you own or plan on collecting from the wild 25 + venomus and non venomus reptiles(it includes lizards, Toads, frogs,and torts and turtles as well. as well or if you are a breeder of any large non native constrictor. From what I understand as it was explained to me your standard Non-game hunting licence is what you need. If you hunt and fish and purchase the super combo you are goog, If not then you can grab a 1 day Non-Game ticket for around $13.00. It will be around $20.00 + for out of state herpers. That is the way I under stand it. If it would be helpful, I can get the TPWD officers phone number and see if I can post it so you can give them a call.
