    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Help me, please

I am trying to identify a North American toad. A common name for it is something like Colorado River Toad. The fluids from its skin cause humans and animals to trip. I have been told that people sell them on the web. I just want to know what they look like and what they are.

If you can help me, please do.

I do realize you posted this awhile ago, but I believe the one you are talking about is a Kane Toad. That's the only one I know that has hallucinagenic effects.

bufo alvarius-licking toad

DO NOT TRY TO SMOKE A MARINE/CANE/GIANT TOAD!!! YOU WILL GET SICK OR DIE!!!
I wouldn't recomend smoking venom from a CO. river toad either- DMT can be toxic if not prepared right. I've read it only lasts 20min.

***If tripping wasn't your reason for wanting one, I appoligize. They would probably make a good pet, not as wary as other toads i would imagine***

* 2 Kids in Australia died from licking or smoking(can't remeber wich) a cane toad. Don't want that to happen here, thats why I posted.

Colorado River toad

is a rather common desert species of our southwest and northern Mexico. Its scientific name is Bufo alvarius. The glandular secretions are quite toxic. You can find pix of this species in any western herp fieldguide. rgds/Dick
