    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Ok, Ive heard that even if you dont breed your gecko, she can still lay eggs. Is it true? I check her stomach area every once in a while to see if I can see any eggs, but I never do. What agg do they start??

thanx :dgrin:

I have read the same thing myself. I have never witnessed it because I put them with a male as soon as I notice they have eggs.
I have waited until some were in their 2nd year to breed without them laying a single egg. Personally I am a big fan of the 50 gram rule. That way they have some size and health before they start to produce eggs.

I want to weigh her but I dont have a gram scale and my bio teacher wont let me borrow one so I dont know how much she weighs

A scale is a must have for anyone who is going to breed. Go to an office supply store. You should be able to get one for $40.

You might even find a nice food scale at a thrift shop. I have a terrific liytle scale I got for only $3. I checked it against my vet's scale and it was accurate.
Also, check ebay, I have seen some very cheap on there, nice digital ones.

I have six females, all rescues, and three are at least a few years old, maybe more. None of them have ever had eggs (unless they were reabsorbed without me knowing) Still, I have heard of it enough to thnk it's fairly common.

I dont want to breed her. If and when Im ready to breed leos, im not going to use store bought ones.
?
Is it still possible for her to lay eggs if she doesnt mate?

one of my females that was hatched in mid 2005 did lay one egg last week. it was yellowish in color and very hard. she is not breeding as she is only 43 grams. I have had others lay these dud eggs in the past. it nothing to worry about and i sure dont check to see if there going to lay them.
