Please do not get defensive. You began on an extremely unprofessional level; I can see you are trying to keep this on a business level somewhat now. Do not turn on those who point out what they see on either side in this transaction, after all, the public nature of this forum are why people post here on the BOI.

I agree that photos would be a good way to look at some of the facts here.

I appologize...just with all the stuff i am going through with my fiancee I was really counting on the cash, thats why I got him the best, maybe I could of went out and caught him some, there everywhere here..but that wasn't the point, the point was to get him the best..now I am out 400.00 and I my fiancee is the one who has to deal with this mess ultimatly with her health, this guy doesn't want to be kind, I would never do this to someone I knew went through so much, I did what I could ...what Bill is doing here is making a spectacle of a persona matter, we got into a fight, I told him I was through with him , after that is when the trouble starts...it's not about the lizards it about making me pay dearly for insulting him...If he were a decent human being he would see that I tried my best and pay me so I can take care of my sweetheart...
I am frustrated beyong belief, i am actaully shaking here over this mess and havn't eaten in 2 days...all over a pair of collared lizards...he won't even offer a settlement

I have read this thread, post after nauseating post. And, I don't know if anyone else will agree with me or not, but this whole deal seems to me to be deeper than any lizards. The two of you were obviously friends at one point, so far as even planning a herping trip together. Justin, you admit that you have been trying to help him over a long period of time and you both admit to a long standing business relationship. It just doesn't sit right in my stomach that all this trouble is being caused over this shipping order. I don't have many friends, but the ones I do have I would find a way to work out a problem that is this easily solved out. I mean really, now all this sounds like is bickering without resolution or even an attempt at it. If the "REAL PROBLEM" you two are having with each other could be resolved, then I believe that this problem would follow suit and get resolved. That is just my opinion. And by the way, you two obviously trusted each other at one time. I don't care what has really severed that trust, but the both of you should.

Your right we were really good friends, well in my book, and I miss being friends. I tried after our argument to talk with him and move on, I even appolgized in an email I sent him. But the guy desn't want an appology, doesn't want to be friends again or hash this out in a civil manner, I made lots of threats on the side and accusations..I agree I was out of line sometimes...but it takes tw to tango..now he's holding 400.00 of mine ransom to make some kida point...well I hope it is worth it to him...it's certainly has not been for me. Personally I am still willing to pick up the phone and try to work out things...but he won't ansewer my calls so what am supposed to do...
Can bring water to a horse ..but can't make him drink!!
In the end the only true resolution to this deal is both of us getting past this as friends...but I doubt that will happen he is too stubborn.

Tentoes, do you still want to try to salvage what was obviously a good friendship at one point? If so, put this trivial stuff behind you and do as someone mentioned before. Deduct a portion of the bill, send the lizards back, and pay out the rest as agreed. Just my opinion, but it would seem a good friendship would be worth making at least that kind of effort. Nobody has to play the blame game. Just accept it that the deal didn't go as expected and find a resolution. Whether you decide to do any business in the future is up to you, but don't let this ruin a friendship. They can be hard to come by sometimes.

Interesting but I think pretty much everyone is past that point.

Two different options have been offerred:

1.) Keep the collareds and send a payment of $340 to Justin.

2.) Return the collareds at Justin's expense and send him a payment of $300

Either of these solutions seem very fair.

Do either of them appeal to you?

Bill, you have your options, think about them, pick one, and follow through. This really is not a hard choice. It has been well established that both you and Justin have been good friends and have generously helped each other out. You two have duked it out long enough now and are both lying on the ground, it is time to sit up shake hands and go barbecue some steaks.

That is what I see going on here...you see yourself as the good guy...coming to everyones rescue...but you have admitted that you had stuff you didn't want or need...and he was willing to allow you to unload that stuff on him...and now your pride is making you stubborn and unwilling to make a good business deal out of a failing one.

I have seen too much of this lately...read the "Adam at Millennium Morphs" thread if you want a third party view of stubborn pride destroying a good business.

If it causes you that much stress to read about stubborn dealers, why bother? Sounds like you need a break from the BOI if you're carrying drama from one thread into another completely unrelated thread. What do you have against Justin in the first place? That you think he's just another Adam of Millenium Morphs? I don't see the parallels, and you don't seem to be doing anything constructive by throwing accusations around, calling Justin proud, greedy, stubborn, and unwilling to fix a problem. That's a lot coming from someone who's never done business with Justin.

Well, I've purchased from Justin before, and I have a completely different impression of him. He strikes me as the type of guy who is generous with customers, who will hook them up with good deals, and who is not about trying to get his money's worth out of everything he can. Look at the prices he was selling some of his holdback animals for on Kingsnake to generate money after the hurricane. (I think I saved a few of those ads onto my computer, if anyone wants to see.) That doesn't strike me as being greedy. Look at how willing he is to lower the price just to get some money back from Bill and drop the issue. That doesn't sound like a stubborn person to me. And lastly, have any of you ever bought from him? If you think the prices he lists on his sale ads are pretty nice, well, he offers even better prices (up to 50% off) for repeat customers.

I think everybody here just needs to chill out. We're obviously not showing the best of ourselves here with Justin being stressed about the financial impact on his personal life and Bill feeling like he's been ripped off. The solutions that have been suggested sound simple enough. This just doesn't seem worth dragging out forever.
