In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Help with a friendly wager - enchis with a lesser twist

I swear to god if I cut my egg and it ends up dying I'm going to hunt every one of you down that told me to cut and murder the hell out of you.

LMAO!!!!

Well did you cut it yet????!!! The anticipation is KILLING ME!!!!

They don't get much yellow till about then anyway so you will have a hard time figuring out what it is anyway

I swear to god if I cut my egg and it ends up dying I'm going to hunt every one of you down that told me to cut and murder the hell out of you.

Nope, haven't cut it....fighting the urge with every ounce of strength I have haha

Willow, I'm going to help.

Imagine making that slit - carefully, oh so carefully - just a nice safe little window...maybe not even big enough to tell for certain what's inside, but you don't want to risk making it bigger. You looked, now you are going to torture yourself by waiting for the baby to emerge. Then, a day or two later when you open the incubator to gaze in at the precious, you see a movement that first draws you in for a closer look....then makes you gasp in revulsion.
MAGGOTS!! The fluid in the egg teeming with them.
Fighting the urge to slam the incubator closed and wash your eyes out with bleach, you steel yourself for battle. Wad up some paper towel, and do your best to scoop out them out of the egg; seeing more and more of the fluid spilling out each time. You have to make the cut bigger, because they've spread so far that you just can't get them otherwise. After what seems like an hour (but is actually only a few minutes), you call the job done. You did it!! You saved the egg, but the image of those maggots haunts you for the rest of the day, and fills your dreams that night. Finally, in the first light of morning, you find yourself standing at the incubator; taking that deep breath before you look again. You pop the lid on the egg box, and the substrate is just crawling with them...as is THE EGG. Imagine your stomach churning, as you see that little lesser enchi twitching against the movement of the maggots - trapped, and unable to crawl away because he isn't ready to hatch - and wonder WHY you had to know.

I have read stories like that before Harald....and seen pics...

hence why I have yet to falter and attack the egg with any sharp object....

its a nice thought to see whats inside...but I decided long ago that I wouldn't be doing any cutting unless i was in fear for the health of the baby inside.

So what day are you going to see the the eye looking out at you

or the nose just sticking through, looking trapped

Saturday?
Sunday?

day 49 today...no denting or anything atm...but the shadow inside the egg is bigger then it was 3 days ago lol

no idea when Uno is gonna poke his head out.

The maggot story was inspired by those little bulls, btw....I was looking in at the babies this afternoon (one that hasn't left the egg, yet), and there were a couple of those little gnat looking things hopping around the empty shells. No idea where they came from, but I've had them lay eggs in empties before - opening a trash can a few days later to get swarmed by their escape.

Oh I for some reason thought your egg was further along, Willow.

Harald, thanks for the detailed horror "could-be" story. That would totally suck.

Somebody (Brandi) commented last night that she would have guessed some kind of bee combo, on this one...and, in discussion this evening, I stated that this was her first year breeding.
Then it hit me.
I started out putting my male bee in there. I never saw him any where near her, so I finally pulled him out and went with the enchi. The pattern is certainly similar to a lesser or queen bee...depending on what I see when it crawls out of the egg, I will have to consider that possibility. (This is why I don't do multiple male breedings...I like identifying the babies to be clear cut)

Thanks for the story, Harald. I was sitting here munching on some fried pickles. :>Puke<:

Good luck guys! Hope you get the babies you're wanting.

ooOOoohhh.. I got you thinking?? what a crazy turn of events?!?! lol.. Either way.. I look forward to seeing what comes out!!!

Well, it was actually Chris that got me thinking, when he asked whether she could have retained sperm from a previous breeding. I said no, this was her first season...and I started to say that the only male she'd ever been with was the enchi, and it hit me. You, however, are the one that made the comment that probably spurred his thoughts. I might have to send you chocolate.

I'm going to be worse than Willow until that thing comes out of the egg. :willy_nil

LOL wow...do I get the good bet because I'm a girl? or do you hate Harald??

I really hope your prediction for me isn't as wrong as I'm sure the one you gave for Harald is =)

I think I'll sing to the cosmos to counter act the bad JUE JUE you just sent into them =p

Willow,

I dont hate harald, actualy its the opposite- he's the breeder I returned to the most with my purchasing snakes. I voted that way with him because someone has to be a stinker. I see Steve betted that way also...LOL.

I had an 8 egg clutch, all i wanted was one spider mojo. None. 5 froma lesser X pastel, no pastel lesser. 6 from a banded female and lesser, 4 died 10 days in, the 2 that didnt die, wow- got my bande dlesser which is what i wanted, and th ebest reduced pattern banded normal ever- too bad they were dead.

So, naturally, according to that, I am pretty much guaranteeing your ONE egg, your solo egg- not a couple, not 7, but ONE egg will indeed be a lesser enchi, because out of 8, none of mine were a spider mojo.

Its quite simple science if you think of it....

( but hey, I hope harald gets all my luck and a nice ratio of lesser enchi's) ;)

Dude, they are not even my eggs ( or egg) and i am dying toknow what the results are!!!
